    Hi GameeApp,

    while the platform seems very interesting the lack of details might hold back serious developers that have to consider daily costs to run their studios. I think a more precise information, especially done before the start of the jam, would have helped you in get more interest on it. Still there's time and people can join it if you share those details within a couple of days.

    Talking for myself for example, I would really like to have spent one month in develop something customised for your platform, but it means that I have to cut on other projects, where, I am aware about the risks and costs. I might still give it a go making something small in one day, but it would be more for curiosity to test the platform more than a serious effort.

    My personal case, but I am sure it will be the same for any other professional developer, would be a loss of chance for you and for the developers as well. That's why, once again, my suggestion is to make clear the revenues, at least from the ads. Then privately, you might have some other form of agreement too, but people are always happy to know why they are investing time on making a game that will give to you an income, and maybe, one day, something to the developers (that might still not be enough to cover even the development costs).

    Sorry if my post seems a bit too harsh, but I love when people comes out with new ideas and opportunities, so I wish that everyone can benefit from that, rather than lose the chance

  • I agree, unfortunately. I would like to do MSX and Mega Drive games.

    The project is interesting but nothing compared to C2 for what I have seen in some of their videos.

    EDIT:

    An alternative would be to use C2 to create your game and then run them on a micro computer as a Raspberri-Pi for example and then put the Raspberry inside a broken NES case. With a little bit of work it would looks a NES from outside but inside it will be something different.

    By the way, I posted still in this section some tutorial for create a Side Scrolling Shooter that might help you to build a game that resamble the NES ones <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink">

  • Hi guys, in the past days I have been working on my first tutorial course for Construct 2, where I show how to create a Side Scrolling Shooter in Pixel Art (using the free version of C2).

    I have created the videos for Italian users, since there's almost nothing in Italian and the few things that are there are obsolete and done by people that just installed the software without really know what they are doing.

    So I have decided to fill this gap, and I have built this first series (for now). Sharing it around, I got the attention and subscribers from other country too, so I am now translating it to English as well.

    That is odd. You should have the option to choose. Has something changed recently? It has been a couple versions now, but I made a USB version of C2 not that long ago.

    Yeah, strange. I am not sure about the old versions, I had the program installed for a long time now.

    Nothing change, the problem is that I have no option to choose where to install. Otherwise I could just try a different driver and/or name...

  • Thank you Kyatric, I will try the second even if I would prefer to don't show additional plugins to don't confuse visitors.

    I am not really happy with the Steam system to be honest, so I guess I will leave that option as last resort.

  • Hi guys,

    I want to try to create some C2 video tutorial and I wanted to create something that might be useful for absolute beginners using the free version.

    I currently have the Personal License and if I try to install again C2, rather than being asked where I want to install it, I get automatically a message saying if I want to uninstall my current version first or just overwrite it. I need to keep both versions, the Personal one with the plugins to work and the Free one without any plugin to create tutorials.

    How can I solve this problem?

    I have tried to create another account on my computer but nothing changes.

    Yes, online multiplayer is much harder, that's why I am not getting into it yet. First I want to be confident with local multiplayer and make the move later.

    In these days I am working to port the game on AirConsole so it is a bit step further, not easy but doable. Just takes more time and lots of patience with testing.

    The game is local multiplayer only, I have developed purposely in that way to remember the old time having fun with friends playing next to each other. No online multiplayer will be added, or at list not for a long time.
