  • You're stuck with boxes for now I'm afraid - everything else is 2D.

    Please don't PM bugs to me or any admins - all bugs should be reported to the tracker. It's useless organisationally to have bug reports scattered all over the place.

    If you have a .cap file you don't want public which demonstrates a bug, it is most preferable to attach files directly to the bug report on SourceForge. This way all developers have immediate access to the file, so it can be dealt with efficiently. If you have a private file you don't want to share, please try to reproduce the bug in a new .cap you are willing to share. If you can't do this, please email it to us, don't upload it - many upload sites are rubbish and have service failures, popup ads, long wait times to download, generally very frustrating, and tend to expire inactive files after some time. Our contact e-mails are in our profiles. Please also mention the bug number in the email, so I can find it again later easily (eg. Subject: File for bug #2345678).

    Please remember to do this, otherwise your bug submission might not be effectively dealt with. We do try to have a look at all bugs, but we currently have about 100 open bugs on the tracker and some are fairly old, so it's important everything is sensibly organised.

    Thanks!

  • Progess in science has always been disproving current theories and replacing them with more accurate ones... this machine will smash everything we "think we know" and replace it with what is REALLY correct.

    I guess this is the real reason - scientists have worked out all the maths and want to see it happen for real, so they know their understanding of particle physics is correct (not just a good theory), and to test other theories and come up with new ones.

    This is a bit of a shot in the dark since I don't know much about particle physics, but I guess it might help with the development of fusion power.

  • That looks awesome

  • There might be a library that can be quickly put in to a plugin, but I thought you had to pay for decent voice recognition software? It's a fairly niche thing so I'm not personally interested in doing it right now, but with our plugin SDK any other developer could have a go.

  • Yeah, just for reference, here's what's going on here. If you have something like

    + Sprite Health < 0

    -> Sprite: Destroy

    -> Create 'explosion' at Sprite

    If by chance two or more Sprites have Health < 0 at the same time (eg. a button to destroy them all), then multiple objects will be picked by the 'Health < 0' condition. The 'Destroy' action is called once per picked instance, but system actions have no regard for picked objects, and only run once. So you only get one explosion. Adding the for-each forces it to run the actions repeatedly for each instance, so you get enough explosions as well. This is true of any system action.

  • It is impossible to prove the existance or nonexistance of God, so we will have people arguing in circles for all time!

  • I saw a black hole flying around outside, but I think it's gone now.

  • Welcome back Soldjah, we missed you

  • I finally have internet and a shiny new wifi connection! Hooray! I was nearly passing out from withdrawal symptoms. You might want to bump threads with files you want me to look at or I might forget about them.

  • By the way, this is an old thread and I'm not worried about the results any more

  • I disappear for a day or two and look at the chaos that ensues, it's almost as bad as the first australian settlements, where they sent all the UK criminals. How awesome is that?

  • Eternity is a long time to make computer games. The black hole thing might've turned out OK anyway.

  • I recently moved, when I get the internet installed again I'll try and sort out everyone's wiki access.

  • The Construct Wiki has partial documentation. It's a work in progress and a lot of it is subject to change. I do also appreciate how important a reference is for documentation purposes, but I think tutorials are important to help get beginners going. We should have both!

    Part of the problem is with so many plugins there is a lot of reference documentation to write. We need everyone's help to write it (it's an easy way to contribute to the project if you're not a programmer).
