  • In the last year and a half I have created three games using Construct 3. In August, 2019, I submitted my first game to Gamedistribution.com. On June 10, 2020 I had an accumulated ad revenue of 38.40 euros. The next day I noticed all of my revenue was gone. I immediately reported this problem to Gamedistribution.com’s support team. For weeks I received no reply. Finally on August 17 I received an acknowledgement of my problem and a promise to resolve it ASAP. To this day my ad revenue remains at ZERO, and I have not heard further from Gamedistribution.com. I have found another game distributor, Gamearter.com, and am very happy with their higher percentage of revenue return and excellent support. I wish I had found them earlier.

  • Thank you for your reply to my question. I eventually did get my game released to GameDistribuion.com. The problem with my original release was that no ads were showing up. It turned out that exporting my game with the "Minify Script" turned on was causing errors at GameDistribution.com. On the advice of a technical relative of mine, I turned off the "Minify Script" option, re-released the package to GameDistribution.com and the problem was resolved.

  • I always thought it was good practice to delete cookies periodically to keep your PC running lean and clean. I guess I'll have to change this practice of mine since I'm now working with an addon in my Construct 3 game.

  • I installed the addon again and SAVED the game. However, the next day I try to LOAD the game and get the error message that the addon is not there.

    After much experimenting, I discovered that if I CLEAR CACHE in Chrome, the addon disappears. If I don't clear cache, the addon remains. It appears to me that the addon is treated like a COOKIE in Chrome. If you delete Cookies, you delete the addon. Is that how it's supposed to work?

  • I created a game and installed the GameArter sdk addon. I also instructed Construct 3 to use "persistent storage." I saved the game with the installed addon. The next day I tried to load the game for further modification and got the following error:

    I have lost a day's work and now have to go back to an old baseline version, install the addon again and recode the sdk commands. Why is Construct 3 not saving the sdk addon?

  • I have a turn-based, strategy game centered around crossing a grid and escaping before being destroyed by pursuing enemies - sort of like a cross between chess and minesweeper.

  • What publishing/distribution sites/companies do you recommend for games developed in Construct 3?

    I looked into Google, Amazon and Facebook, but they have so many hoops to jump through to get published.

  • Thank you for your helpful post, Dev989. I read through all of the links you provided, and it definitely gives me pause about working with GameDistribution.com. Are there any other publishers/distributors that you would recommend? I'm looking for a company that doesn't have a huge number of restrictions and requirements in order to be accepted.

  • I did just that and also consulted with an HTML/JavaScript expert.

    It appears that if you "Minify" the script on Export, Construct 3 will "obfuscate" the main JavaScript, but not the GameDistributionSDK third party add-on. This caused the "display an advertisement" command to be unrecognized.

    I had to deselect the "Minify" option and export the game again. It's now working correctly at GameDistribution.com.

  • Last week I posted this in the "General Discussion" section of this forum, but got only one response that didn't help me resolve the problem. I thought I'd post it again in this "Plugin SDK" section in hopes of getting more responses.

    I recently completed and debugged my first Construct 3 game. After looking into several publishing options, I decided to try GameDistribution.com. GameDistribution monetizes games via in-app advertising.

    I downloaded and installed a required GameDistribtionSDK addon in the game and added the command "show an advertisement" at a strategic place in the game code.

    I exported the game as HTML5 and then uploaded the created zip file to GameDistribution.com for testing. The game works fine at the GameDistribution test site, except no ads are showing up. I don't know if the fault lies in the GameDistributionSDK addon OR in Construct 3's "Export-HTML5" process.

    Has anyone out there ever successfully implemented a Construct 3 game at GameDidtribution.com? If so, I'd like to hear from you.

  • My C3 game has been uploaded to GameDistribution.com for TESTING. It hasn't been accepted for distribution yet. Before being evaluated for acceptance, I need to run the game at their test site AND view a mock advertisement. The game is functioning correctly, EXCEPT the mock advertisement isn't coming up.

    I can't run it from another computer without logging in. I have to log in with my "developer" ID and password to get access to GameDistribution's testing and evaluation area.

    I was hoping that there are other C3 developers out there who have successfully ported their games to GameDistribution for publishing.

  • Okay. I turned on persistent storage, but I'm still getting the message (shown in my previous post) to install the GameDistribution addon every time I try to open my project.

  • When I click About/Platform Information, it say "Persistent storage: No". Is that what it should be?

    I found in the C3 manual to "Enable the Bundle Addons in Project Property to include any third party addons the project uses in the saved project file."

    My project did not have this enabled, so I enabled it.

    Now I can open my project, but I have to reinstall the GamesDistribution SDK each time. See the displayed message below:

    Is this how it's supposed to work? I assumed the addon was saved with the project.
