• Thanks, got it working, went with a different method though. Agreed, but one question to everyone. When using the infinite runner template I made sure everything was the same but corresponding to a y axis. I figured out everything including the background moving up, even though accomplished this a different way I want to know this method as well just so I have the knowledge. So with that being said, these are the problems, the background is moving faster than the player, the background does not repeat it only moves, is this how the infinitely "repeating" background works? Thank you for your time.

Hi! Would you mind sharing how you solved the vertical scrolling background issue? I have been trying to figure this out for the past couple of days using the above suggested advice and I am not able to get it to work. I am getting pretty frustrated and about to just give up.... I don't want to however so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • You are so welcome!

I am totally new to game development and come from an animation / graphic design background so naturally my ideas are very graphic based. I love the design and simplicity of the toca boca apps which aren't necessarily 100% educational but do have some teaching aspects to them.

Right now I have several concepts swirling around in my head and I am trying to decide which one to focus on and start developing.

Thank you for you kind reply and I wish you the best!

  • Congrats! This is great! Educational (or children focused) apps are an area that I am interested in developing for. Is your app available on android yet? Quick question... what is the difference in the lite and full version of your app? Great work!

  • Hi.

I'm shy so it feels strange introducing myself, even if it is through the computer. I'm Andrea or animationmama, as you will see me here. I currently am employed as a graphic designer, but have worked as an animator in the past (hence my username). I have wanted to learn how to create games for sometime now, and hope that eventually I can learn to do that. After trying out several different game creation applications I found construct and I LOVE IT!!! Nice to meet everyone here...
