  • I am looking at SoundManager as a starting point

May end up simply using an iframe in the meantime, but something more elegant would be much better!

I have not looked at the plugin SDK yet, if I can figure it out - will post results here!

  • samgreene.com/content/browser-controller

this has bumped my interest again...

  • Try this: jazz-soft.net/doc/Jazz-Plugin

have pretty much decided to just use this and prompt users to install a browser plugin

  • Hi nightofgrim

reacTIVision is a no go for construct2 as it captures motion and turns it into TUIO data

    You need a TUIO client

Looking at this TUIO client as a possible plugin adaptation: github.com/fajran/tuiojs

could be nice to have true multitouch in the browser?

    The speed concerns me though!!!

Then again you could go native with Cinder (C++), or if you are just getting starting and the code stuff is kind of scary (like me!), try open frameworks openframeworks.cc

  • Hi birdlantern

I am currently working on a midi solution using a simple, small, midi web server that sends and receives raw midi from the browser. Will keep you updated.

  • neat implementation of particle effects!

It would not be hard to add layers or extend the resources.

Well done, had a long play!

  • very cool, thanks for your good work!

  • Did something really simple because I wanted the ability to easily edit large chunks of text:

Created an Instance Variable for each block of Text to be used attached to just one Text Box.

Each Instance Variable was named according to it's intended destination and/or scene - I used numbers and a 3 character scene code.

Then used events to place text into just 3 text boxes that are reused throughout the game.

I also used 7 different themes for directing how the text is displayed for a given scene

There are over 400 text events and it works real quick with no major garbage.

Couldn't use AJAX as the client required app to run offline.

Didn't use an array as I didn't see the point of having to map out the event logic twice

Hope this gives folk some ideas!

  • Since I purchased a Commercial License for Construct2 on January 7th 2012 I have had continuous work in gamification of non-traditional web processes and have work booked up for at least another 12 months.

I looked at about 20 different ways during the prevous month including appraising stencyl. I wished this forum topic existed then as I would have purchased Construct2 a lot sooner.

To me, there are two simple requirements from any software:

    1. worth investing my time to learn (roadmap, extensibility etc)

    2. does what my clients never expected would be possible

    Construct2 exceeds both!

  • I have the same problem with multiple hosted games and the only thing (as far as I am aware) that could be different from previously (perfectly performing) versions is:

-the jquery1.7.1 version may have been changed?

-my hosting provider has changed something?

-I am simply having a bad day and need to go back to bed until tomorrow?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Ditto!

  • If anyone is wanting to change SVG to canvas, use this to get coordinates etc professorcloud.com/svg-to-canvas

    saves a bucket of time!

  • perhaps there is room for some new catagories of content (bit like genre cross-overs and mash-ups in music) that take advantage of C2s excellent speed to publish and user-friendly door into the webGL world. I am very keen to experiment with the graphics and animation to see what could be done and feel very encouraged by everything that has been shared on this thread.

    Cheers!
