  • That is perfect thank you, I am using the paid so will probably use the families as you suggested. Thank you that should greatly improve the performance and be much easier to alter as needs be.

  • anthonykojima hi, glad you like the design I am working with a couple of excellent artists so hopefully more game assets will be coming soon.

Anyway the game will feature both survivors and creatures, zombies naturally will be included, demons, the devil, angels, various mythical gods and some other things.

I like your idea of the different survivors the game was for the most part going to see the player trying to survive alone. But including some other survivor characters is a good idea, both good and bad etc.

P.s. I have purchased a license... Originally i did it just to support development, but I am generally glad I did as some of my games even the fluxation one just keep getting bigger and a license is a must have to really get the most out of the software :)

  • Hi,

I am building an adventure point and click game, in the game there will be a lot of objects for the player to interact with. What I want is for the object to only be clickable and useful when the player is near the object.

My initial idea was to create an invisible object that acts as an area of effect, so if the player is overlapping that radius object then the item becomes clickable... But that would require lots of extra objects being added to the layout.

As the game will have a lot of objects that the player can interact with is there a better way of doing this that doesnt require adding objects to the layout as I want to improve the games efficiency as much as possible.

    Thanks.

  • Hey all, I am building a new game called 'When the Sky Falls' its an apoclyptic game set in the not to distant future when the world is ending... The apocalypse.

Anyway it has all manner of stereotypical and mythical events occuring related to the end of the world, the dead walking, heaven and hell do battle, the horsemen riding across the world etc etc.

The game is going to be a point and click adventure game but with complete freedom of choice where a persons choices will dictate what happens in the game... hopefully with some random results thrown in so that every game will be a little different from the last.

Heres a little screenshot of one of the survivors downstairs so you can see the art style I am building, but I was hoping people here might have some suggestions of story ideas, creatures or game dynamics that I could include in the game to make it better.

  • I think you need the latest version to upload to the arcade.

  • Yes it will be aimed at mobile markets primarily, I will probably change it so that the person can control the jump level, or change it so he uses some mystical anime style power to fly lol.

  • Yeah I am, a little slowly as this is my 'fun' side project, but I hope to have something a little more soon.

  • theres about 10 frames in that run sequence, and the speed is set to 10 initially

  • Hey All,

I have uploaded my new game with C2 'running grey' it is a one button scrolling platformer. It is horribly simplistic at the moment since I am no great artist and have done what I can.

    or here:

Not sure if its been validated yet or not on the arcade so you can also play it on my own server. But have a play, I intend to add a lot more to the game over the next couple of weeks, once the game is in a fit state I will update the graphics and animation as well to look nicer.

P.c. the difficulty increases as you run faster.

  • Hi thank you, completely missed that section as I looked at plat-former area in the faq. Got exactly what i was looking for thanks.

  • I just played it for a little while again, as i forgot about it yesterday heh. As with drewmox I found the game very addictive. my fps didnt change even when i had a lot of the objects on screen.

I agree upgrades of some kind would be good, also perhaps mini life bars on the ships so you can judge when to allow a better one to come out or when you need to reinforce quicker.. And as I mentioned before some kind of option to right click and target ships or place a waypoint that your ships will go towards.

  • I understand you use paralax to control the different speeds of backgrounds, but i was wondering if there is a good way to create a perpetual scrolling background, so that at the end of one a new one spawns.

A good example of this is the mobile game jetpack joyride on mobiles where the background scroll by constantly randomily switching to new ones... If anyone can show a good way of doing this as I want to include it in a little running game i am making.

    thanks.

  • Please ignore me, I found the loop button, was being blind... its annoying when that happens its been bugging me for days, then I suddenly spot it seconds after posting.

Slap my head in shame moment for me.

  • Ive looked in the animations section but i cant seem to workout how do you get an animation to repeat it self continually. At the moment every time I add an animation to a game it plays once and then stops.

Thanks in advance for the help here.

  • I had a quick look at it it intrigued me. I'll be taking another look at it when i get home.

My first thoughts are the ability to target the other ships... not specifically but you can roughly tell them where to go and what to aim at, so to give the sense of strategy. But they maybe go about getting their in their own way perhaps to keep it feeling the same.
