  • must have physics behavior, even if its a bouncing bullet to stop.... use the "Is Sleeping" event for the objects physics

    add global variables "reload"+"count" , a ball instant boolean, and a variable "stop"

    Is Sleeping : set ball boolean true

    while ball on layout , "stop" =0 :

    -------- boolean = false :

    -------- boolean = true : +1 to GV"count" +1 to "stop"

    GV"count"=GV"balls" : set reload to 0

    Reload = 0 : spawn ball position x,y, +1 to GV"balls", set reload to 1

    this should keep a track of whats on the stage, and you can easily have the "count" shown in a text box... if your thinking of 300 balls

  • double check its on the layer GUI as well, sometimes its an easy mistake to make

    I'm working on a star fox based game. start just with a racing, upgrade until a plane, join the army, or fight as fox on foot.

    this is a demo of how battles will work, in my opinion is plays like a game in itself.

  • thanks guys! actually i got lots of run time errors, but i think its because of multiple pick locations for the mouse running simultaneously, i was debating the how to forum, but i seemed to clean it up

    I've had similar problems before, even rpg maker gave out on obvious code... is construct just not powerful enough to deal with this scenario? or do i write incorrectly?

    i had the pick up code written, but out of desperation i edited it to just alter text, to test it.

    if it works, maybe my computer just gave in (i did this all 2night, so maybe i'm tired). sorry if this is a boring read code problem, but i edited it to make it simple.

    i know redoing the whole code can fix the problem, but i bet i'll get a similar problem later on.

    G picks up, D drop items (one item, unless you overlap 2 things/ this will be a weight/str system later)

    *edit*i undo(ed) the steps and saved at the point before i tried making the mouse follow the cheese, my cpu usage spiked to 99% (maybe because i left the game on) now it won't save(is still attempting). I doubt i'll ever make a full (good) game at this rate. Soon i'll get a new computer, whats the best hardware to have? *i updated my driver software recently* this is exactly why i leave unity alone...

    add image points to the green body, pin head legs and arms

    every tick set green body to bullet position only

    if it has to tilt to look good, add a new sprite, everytick set angle green body to the new sprite (have new sprite above door/porte 2)

    i think you are making a different game, this is an example? if the limbs are guns for a ship, they will still move individually if you need them too.

    i think i've seen this before in the manual, but couldn't find it again sorry... especially if its obvious

    at the moment it needs both conditions to be true, or just one object overlapping

    to clarify i have on overlapping Var=1

  • i made a card game... well so far its just one player...

    i made all cards separate and had them in a family "Deck". have a boolean on the card "picked".

    on draw (or on click) pick a random instance of a card where "picked" is false,

    add it to the hand and set it to picked=true

    for the face value, either have a variable (1-13) for each card. just add it to the family, and add it as you go.

    all it is so far is claim and dig, the priorities need tidying up.. . otherwise you must wait or set them prior to running. however i feel the check surrounding tiles code is bound to be useful to someone

  • i know, bad amnesia based games don't end up explaining things. great amnesia games(plots) have a massive twist after you think you learnt the truth.

    i was thinking something like cloud atlas, where humans are the food source. you are either a human rejected as bad meat, a human that was saved, but has no memory as there was nothing before. (ooh I like that, a cut scene with flashes of memory as you are pulled away and wires detached. might be a good starting point for instant wtf reaction to start with a sub agenda in your mind)

    honestly its an open topic for better suggestions. its something that can only really be done with a ton of resources.

    at the moment its just a few maps that need improving and a ton of random sprites. i'm working on a few other things.

    this idea would be my main task if it was planned out fully. (or the first level, any input increases my productivity)

    start: in water blurred vision

    2nd: water removed fall to ground. with perspective 1st person (just pictures)

    3: flash of red to signify pain, and glimps of tubes being removed

    4: glimps of being dragged

    5: noise / urgency, background blurred speech

    6:flash of a face telling you something

    7: doors close

    when awake, in a lift birds eye view, 0 clue, items to collect/ bandage yourself (a medical system introduced.. ooh like what you eat to heal! its made from people)

    then lift to overworld, others not sure on how they came to be, some born, some came from the lift. like fallout, and the vault to some extent

    maybe venting gas from the underground facility is what makes animals venomous. Maybe people are converted to energy, and Aliens harvest us beneath our own noses, this thing writes itself. i'll add more as i think it. if u think its sounding more interesting? seems a shame to make a comic, but i'm a good quick sketcher

    i'm here with train to game, and if anyone asks, no its not worth while, just pay for construct 2, unity, 3dsmax and update windows op yourself!

    soon i will be in a position to host my own programming team, i'd love to make a fallout game that doesn't just have a world of nothing.... like borderlands.... love how Raze had code for the biggest world map on 1 disk, and would love to hack things like GTA. :,( bless those who made naruto mods

    like is it a pkm example, where the enemy picks a skill based on conditions

    or a rts example... if this is the case you need priority variables, (massive ball ache) if i finish my DK example, I will add a cap x to show it, otherwise i just spam a timing system, which rarely helps unless specific conditions are met

    like majin's example, you could have an enemy condition where if the enemy has distance < 200 to a player projectile: perform "roll"

    then you would need something to judge the enemies direction, and the angle to roll at

    using the "distance" function you can say if player distance to enemy is > 200 use fire (but u need charging effects so it doesn't troll the ability)

    or if your happy with the enemy just using the fire ability constantly... im guessing no, but there are great scirra games like this <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">eg Bit dungeon) http://www.kongregate.com/games/KintoGames/bit-dungeon

    #Sandvich 725 I tested this out, guessing you are using the rts example, my first advice is add a keyboard object, and have:

    T is down, right mouse button clicked, cursor is over "enemybase/blue" event

    (ok not fully tested, but the right click function is already taken, and can mess with the example code for moving so on other right click events, u may have to add an additional inverted(T is down)...mostly as it has a new move to function)

    create a new sprite, like a targeting sprite, with pin behavior.

    on click (Tis down etc) spawn targeting sprite to object enemybase/blue

    "targeting" on created pin to enemy base

    then add friendly base turret acquire target "targeting"

    make sure the "targeting sprite is destroyed when the tank is, else the friendly turrets seem to just pick the spot the "targeting" sprite remains at

    hope this helps, again, how do i upload cap x!!!! I'd bother to test everything if i didn't have to re write code in text
