    I've been doing some research on sound for iOS devices and I know you can't play a sound on start-up without a touch trigger. Apple doesn't want to autoplay video and audio on IPad because of the high amout of traffic you can use on mobile networks however I found that you can emulate a fake button which might play the sound but that was for older versions of iOS.

    I was wondering if it was possible to achieve this in construct 2...

    Is appmobi free? I'm currently testing my game by loading it up to a web server and adding a home screen button to my iPad.

    I'm trying to get a sound to play on start-up on an iPad.

    I used your following code:

    Global number music = 0

    System: On start of layout

    System: music = 0

    -> Audio: play sound looped tag "music"

    -> System: set music to 1

    It works fine on browsers but wont work at all on iPad. The only way I know to get sound to work is to attach a button or something that triggers the sound to play. Do you know why this is and is there a solution?

    I have a sound that plays on start up, it works fine on browsers but will not play on my iPad 1 unless I attach a button or something that triggers it to play.

    Anybody know the reason why and is there a working solution?

  • I got this error when testing in Chrome:

    Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not found)

    It works fine on computer up and till I export for iPad and then its gone.

    Anyway to test for errors on iPad/Safari?

    I don't use phonegap, I export using Construct 2 and load it to my web server and type in the address to the game.

    I have a mysterious problem...

    I have been successful in adding sound to play on iPad 1 but now there is some mischievousness going on.

    I had a sound which was working, I changed some code and moved some objects about abit, I check to see if everything is till working OK. Everything is fine, export, load onto server for iPad testing and no sound... I go back to computer and try on that and... no sound.... Close file, reopen and play... its working again...? Export again to iPad and its gone again but it has worked before!

    I have been successful in playing sound on the iPad 1 however the sound is only 2 secs long and the one I'm currently trying to get to work is 8 secs and it wont play at all...

  • Is there a file size limit with sound in Construct 2?

    The reason being I have a sound effect which will not play at all on my iPad.

    Then after fade out --> Restart Fade

    So its continuous every button press!
