  • Yeah it happens a lot. It's common for me now to just copy, refresh, paste, submit.

maybe it's the hosting provider's DNS failing us, that could be the culprit.

I experienced that. I had lots of issues with a hosting provider where I had a website, I couldn't even Ping or ICMP them, but to them everything appeared normal.

This all ended when I changed hosts.

For another website I changed to a hosting provider that has more DNS servers (many cheap ones just provide 2), that seems to have fixed all my issues.

Dont try Cloudflare btw, that will only partially solve this.

  • it didn't work (the changes you mention).

site failed with the above post, had to retry.

  • I've emailed the forum support, there's no way to fix this without upgrading (the system causing the error is pretty complicated). I'm going to attempt to try and upgrade the forum soon, but the problem is we've heavily modified it so it's not an easy job. I've pushed it up my to do list though because I know it's important to a lot of people.

  • honestly, it's no big deal.. I only brought it up as I thought was kind of funny and just wondered if it happened to other people. Like a previous person said I've gotten used to it and after I write a post I always select-all and copy it, refresh my browser and paste - it skips a step of being denied..

I'm sure you have bigger fish to fry...

  • I have multiple times a day where this happens and usually I just get tired of trying and stop replying to people. Which is a bit of a loss for the forums because I bet it happens to more than just me. (Not saying I am a loss to the forums, but I know there are others who provide a lot of help here that probably get turned off by the constant errors...)

At this point I always just copy my reply before hitting post. That way I can just refresh if it fails and paste it back in. But if it fails again I give up at that point...

Funny I got it again while typing submitting this post the first try...

  • yeah this is 100%, like when I think to post some reply and I type it really very well , and when it is time to post, after the posting I get the same message and my all work is just become zero (useless).

Now I have to think again about the reply I have made to anyone and retype the whole thing. This is some time gets very crazy.

I got one trick about this , I copy my whole message before posting and than I post. If the error comes I just paste the matter and it worked.

The thing I think is that if we take much time in replying than the session is expired. So I think first type in notepad or so, and than paste the reply here.

    Thanks in advanced. <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Bye bye take care. <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I have this issue each and every time I post, either that or I get a 500 error (access denied) so I too make a habit of writing my response in notepad, and paste it here then submit. It sux, but it works. For the most part.

Yep this is what I do too. Thanks for sharing your idea too.

  • I actually type it in the window, select and copy it, and refresh the page before pasting the reply.

(helps with getting Ninja'd on answering people too.)

  • Tom any word on this? I'm still getting the issue and it's pretty annoying.

  • Yeah, the same happens for me. It's really annoying and I don't understand why it would happen.
