  • I just had a talk with one of the Nintendo Wii U eShop recruiters and he really liked Super Ubi Land. So Notion is now able to develop for the Wii U but the only problem is that we need to raise 3 grand to buy one of the dev kits!

I'm planning on starting a kickstarter sometime in Feb for it but til then, I have dedicated a page on my website for any donations towards the dev kit.

There are tiers similar to what would be on KICKSTARTER... it's just not through KICKSTARTER.

    Thanks :)

  • Wait - whaa?

That's all well and good, but how is the HTML5 game going to work? Or are you remaking it in native code?

  • Have to remake the game unity which comes with the dev kit.

  • Ah, I see. Well, congrats anyway :)

    Figured :\</p>

  • If you've got a guarantee or even slight interest from Nintendo in writing it would be pretty easy to get a government grant, or maybe contact an angel investor organisation?

That said, it's good to see someone planning to use KickStarter that ISN'T a massive multi-million dollar company with a PR team and VAT exemption!

Hope everything works out well for you :)

  • Wow - Your game on Wii U , my biggest dream !

  • I'd support the kickstarter!

  • Congratz man.

  • How much would it cost to contract a 3rd party to port the game for you? It seems you need to raise money for not only the kit but also time in development as you port your own game.

    Just a thought.

  • Thanks guys!

I haven't put too much thought into that. I have two programmers that are good with unity that I was thinking of splitting sales with. Ideally, I'd like to raise enough to just pay them upfront for their work. But i estimate it would take possibly 3-5 months for them to port the game over so I would think about 15 grand per programmer to port. That's just an estimate though.

  • 15k for 5 months is prettty spot on the salary for an entry level programmer over here afaik (I'm not a programmer so I don't really know exactly).

But wouldn't it be neat if we could get a WiiU exporter for C2 eventually? Even though it's unlikely.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Congrats about getting contacted, but yeah, it is disappointing that it's going to have to be rewritten in unity to do so. :( I have a game I would love to put on the wii u eshop as well, but that's a lot of money to throw at the port - not to mention the time invested and the hassles involved.

I hope eventually there will be a way to get c2 games on places like this.

  • Yea... I wish I didn't have to go through the hassle as well :/

The set up for construct 2 is so easy for me to use and it would be really good to be able to have exporters like that even if I had to pay hundreds of dollars more for it as an add-on.

But I'm doing what I have to do in the mean time *shrugs*

  • here just to say congrats!!!!
