The Official Introduce Yourself Thread

  • I'm Willian, I'm 18 and currently working as a Java Web programmer and studying for oracle's official test. I've learned POO by my own when I was 16.

Never developed a game before, but I'm quite tired of developing systems, so I guess it's time to try something new. Since I has played games until 17, the idea of developing a game looks quite interesting for me.

My goal is to develop some simple casual games, and maybe if Construct 2 allows me, a simple RPG game (since I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan).

  • Hello Scirra World,

I'm an experienced developer/admin in the highly misunderstood Lotus Notes/Domino "space" (Let's not go there.) Hey, it's a living. I'm looking to port the skills in coding, enterprise app dev and project management over to the much more interesting realm of online multiplayer game design! All coding geniuses welcome to connect.

    I also write. Here's long-form sci-fi:

Kite: A Novel in Earth Orbit

    And here's a complete sci-fi short story.

    The Beekeeper

    Enjoy.

  • Hi there,

I stumbled upon Construct through this fellow named Konjak and so far so good :D

I'm a graphic artist by profession, stuff I've been in includes one completed game for iDevices called DrawRace2 and an indie UDK project called Angels Fall First: Planetstorm, which is still in the works. Anyone wanting to know more, please visit my portfolio at skyway.carbonmade.com

I'm trying Construct for the sheer heck of it, I've used UDK and Unity, somewhat know my way around them, but both are too time-consuming for a small team with very limited time and resources, which just wants to test some ideas quickly :)

  • Hi,

My name is Julio, but friends call me "Juce". I'm from Chile.

I learned about Construct after a classmate in videogame design used this software to create his first ever game prototype.

I'm looking forward to learning and testing, and to provide feedback from my investigations.

I'm currently working on a team project, but in the meantime, this seems like a quick and easy way to try out new things on my own.

    Cheers,

    Juce.-

PS: BTW, I'm the director of the fanfilm Metal Gear Solid: The Mongoose Incident

  • Hello all! I'm Brandon, known to others on the internet as Sharpshooter. I found out about Construct 2 through my web design professor, who has been hyping up the engine as well as the advent of HTML5 games. I fell in love with Construct 2 by the end of the first tutorial.

As someone who has studied more of the design and art aspects of game design, I'm happy to see an engine that focuses less on the language and more on the logic when it comes to programming. I'm happy to be a part of this community, and hope to learn and make some games while I'm here!

  • Try Construct 3

  • Two brothers 9 and 11 who are making HTML5 games using Constuct2. We are having a blast doing it even through we are still learning a lot about programming as well as game making.

We will be putting our games on our website and we hope to be able to make multi-player online games too.

  • hi this is sagnik...just came through construct..its a great thing...looking forward to learn a lot of things...thanks ashley for his efort.

  • Welcome to the site everyone!

  • Hey, I never took the time to introduce myself!

I thought I'd have a pop up and introduce myself to the Scirra community!

    Nickname: Dcrew

    Hobbies/Best Interests: Computer Programming / Game-Creation

    So... What's up people? :]

  • My name is Peter and I'm 39. I live in Berkeley, CA and I have wanted to make video games my entire life.

I'm a web developer/java programmer. I am interested in making art, arduino, and games.

  • Greetings,

My name is Julian and I'm from the land down under.

I rediscovered Scirra about a week ago. A great Indie game "and yet it moves" inspired me to try my hand at making my own Game.

At first I was looking at Torque 2d but wanted to start with something a little easier. I tried Construct Classic years ago and Liked it so c2 seemed like the perfect candidate.

    So here I am.

  • Hi, my name is Angel. I'm from Spain.

I've always been interested in creating things. And videogames, being interactive, were incredibly appealing, but complicated.

Im a Graphic Designer and have some experience doing graphics for videogames.

I've got a little programming experience with ActionScript2 and PHP. But not enough to be able to create a game.

Construct 2 seemed perfect for me. And even though I'm a Mac user, I downloaded free version to an old PC. After seeing how capable it is, I decided to purchase it while the early adopter price was still in place.

I create my graphics on my Mac, switch to PC to use Construct 2 and thanks to Dropbox the graphics are already there :)

  • I am another noob developer in the making! Nice to meet everyone!

    Golf Clap Please <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Many years ago, I worked in the then fledgling games industry. Watching the development of games was a fantastic experience. I admired the custom written software that the developers used to put the games together.

The guys at Scirra have created something very special with the release of Construct2, as it will allow wannabe game/app developers to realise their dreams.
