  • Hey Guys,

I want to buy a laptop, I will use it as desktop replacement that is connected 2 monitors.

I make some research and found this options so far : Alienware 14x, Macbook pro retina 15 inch with nvida model, Asus g750

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated, thank you.

  • well. if you get a mac you can't use construct anymore

besides, those are incredible overpriced. the price hardware relation the have is awful.

  • You can use C2 on a Mac if you install Bootcamp and a Windows version. Works super fine!

would never use something different than Mac anymore....Stable as hell!

Lol, how to start a OS war

Mac vs Windows vs... This is preference.

Mac hardware vs (I take anything but a mac) I can build 3 x better machine for a 3rd of the price. Agree with sargas, Mac is overpriced - period.

But as an OS it isn't bad.

  • Never wanted to start anything ....still waiting for BeaverliciOUS. That would be a hell of a system!^^

That wood be a dam fine system!^^

  • First of all you should see the eyefinity AMD technology.I have 3, 27 inch IPS monitors using this setup with an almost 6000x1080 resolution. (with bezel compensation)

2 monitors are not recommended because everything that pops up from the OS will be in the middle so portion of it will be between the monitor bezel.

For a 2 or more monitor setup i would not recommend a laptop. It will run very hot and when you are in battery mode you would just kill it.Buy a desktop with a r7 or r9 AMD card and if you go to the 3 monitor setup don't forget that you will need an ACTIVE mini display port to hdmi or dvi.if you don't want to go to this trouble then you should buy the Sapphire brand with FLEX technology.

You need to see Contruct 2 working area in an 1.80m long monitor. it rocks!

  • But what are you going to do with that laptop? play the last games?

which is your budget? well if you are thinking about a mac you have tons of money xD.

  • Thank you guys,

Roccinio I was using desktop and laptop but I want to use a single device for my every need thats why I decided to go with a powerfull laptop

katzin I like to play games but not like crysis 3 etc. just indie games and they don't need too much cpu

Beaverlicious which mac system you are using ? and is it good with bootcamp windows 8 with construct 2 ?

  • powerful laptops are so heavy and produce so much heat that are unusable if you want to carry them around.just buy a desktop and a windows 8 tablet and keep some change from not buying apple.

    just my 2 cents.

  • I have an iMac and a Macbook, booth running with OSX and Bootcamp+Windows7. Never ever had a problem with anything!

  • Why not just buy a standard quality laptop, and buy a new one in a few years if needed. This isn't the 1990s. Fact is, computers are only going to get significantly better if there's a new type of technology released, in which case whatever you buy would become obsolete. So why not save your money.

  • bilgekaan so, what did you get?
