I think i will make a sprite and delete the middle of it, so the effect will be in the edges.

i tried that but that didn't work it makes the entire sprite a lense

Just use the vignette fx/shader on the whole layout?

I'd do the same as I would do for a hud, except using a vignette sprite. Am I far from the solution or...?

Where I last left off I couldn't figure out how to do the force transfer from engine RPM/torque to the driving wheels through transmissions gear ratio.

If that is not enough maybe a 3d first person projection similar to Ultima Underworld, Doom or Wolfenstein 3D by not using Q3D plugin. Rojohound has done some 3d platformer stuff with Paster plugin.
