Most platforms we've looked at in the past have performed very poorly because they just wrap WebKit, which only has a software renderer. If AppJS is the same you can expect similarly poor performance. Awesomium is better in that it's based off Chromium and includes GPU acceleration, WebGL, Web Audio API, etc. etc.

Appjs based off Chromium and support webgl and ... !
