Hi TunaUppercut, the book does teach level editing/saving which can easily be used for saving game stats instead, and creating mini-maps is covered quickly along with Canvas and Plasma objects in the quick examples chapter.
Streaming of large levels was not taught as the book is aiming for beginners, so none of the games were likely to have complex levels larger than games like Mario or Sonic.
Non-user-changeable custom controls through events is taught, but non-standard plugins are not used in the book (so the Input System plugin is not shown).
Resolution options is a good idea, but was left as something performed in the Construct Classic editor rather than a user option.
