So when I run my game, it takes a long time to load everything (a bit over 10 seconds).

After the initial load, the rest of the game plays fine without loading.

What I want to do is have a startup screen while the game loads up in the background.

Is there any way to do this in Construct Classic?

Ah, that's a Construct 2 feature sadly. Your best bet is to set the levels to load memory/objects per-layout (project settings I believe?), then just have the first layout either be a "loading" screen or a menu.

All I see is a load textures per layout setting, but it doesn't really affect the startup time. I'm hoping to just reduce the time needed to startup. As I include more and more events in my game, the startup time is gonna increase as well.

It's at 14 seconds right now.
