  • Hi all! First time poster so please bare with my noobie-ness. xD

Ok, so I'm new at trying creating games, never done it before, and I was wondering if their was a video or video series that explains the interface of Construct and shows you the basics of what everything does. In a sense a "Getting Started" video for Construct. I've looks around the forums and Tutorials but it seems like the video I was looking for is no longer there.

I noticed thier was a lot of tutorials that lead to .cap files which open in Construct but thats it. I don't see how they are tutorials and not examples, am I missing something?

  • Hey, welcome to the forums. :)

A YouTube search managed to yield a few results, but Construct Classic was never documented in a comprehensive manner. Most of what's out there are, as you've pointed out, examples.

You're best bet at this point is to poke around with the software, look through the wiki, and ask questions if you have any specific troubles.

Alternatively, you could give Construct 2 a shot, which has a full user manual up on the website and plenty of people ready to answer questions about it.

I hope you've found some of this helpful. :)

  • Ah, sweet memories! The link below is the first part of a nine-part-video-series about recreating the ghostshooter demo. In fact this series of videos was the reason for me to download and try CC 2 years ago. It was made with heart and soul, I still love it :)

  • I might make a video tutorial of the basics... deltatime, lerp, variables, tips n' tricks. But my accent is pretty bad.
