construct no longer supports bmp file

hello im new here and im new too construct classic but i have a problem

i used to be able to import bmp files when ever i make a sprite but now it won't let me it gives me this error "Unable to load this image. The format may be unsupported, or the image may be too large for your hardware"

i would use jpeg images but they come out in real bad quality

so help please?

Hmm. Can you post the size of the bmp file?

It may be worth saving them as PNG format instead as it's what Construct Classic stores into internally anyway.

the size is 19.kb iv'e even tried 1.97 kb

but i tried the png and it works great thank you very much

PNG is just a better format period, and supports alpha if you ever want semi-translucent pixels, alpha blending ext.

how did you save your bmp, 16 bit per pixel or even 32 bit? never tried that, but i can imagine that construct might have problems with that. but i agree pngs are awesome =)
