Running on my laptop,

3gb's of ram,

2.0ghz Duel core processor,

Nvidia Geforce 8200G M,

I got 15-17 Fps.

27-30 fps

2.8ghz dual processor

4gb

Nvidia GT240gt (1gb)

Not the most entertaining program though.

Is this doing something special in the background?

I'm just wondering why you'd think it wouldn't give people good fps.

it runs at 60 fps on my pc

even though it looks like nonsense

it's running 2 bone ik math on 3000 different bones, moving 3000 different sprites

trying to see how many characters I can realistically have on a project I'm working on

Well that seems to be about right I think.

Considering how much is going on, those frame rates seem reasonable to me.

I'd mostly expect a laptop to have a drop compared to desktops, unless it's a top of the range Sony.

I never use my laptop for games, although I know quite a few people who do.
