so in my game i have a time and a record i set it so that when the variable time is greater than the variable record it sets the record to time but when it shows the record it says the record is zero

From this screenshot you can see only that at start you output the test and then every tick you compare variables.

There is too little information.

Run your project in debug mode and see for yourself what the global variables show.
