How do I fade from one color to another?

I've been trying to fade a background from black to a light yellow, but I can't seem to do it. I've been trying different things, but nothing works. I attempted to use effects, but failed, and my guess is that you use an effect but I don't know which one or how for that matter. Or maybe it's something entirely different?

You'll need to add the tween behavior and make sure the sprite or tiled background is white. Set its color to black in the side menu...
