Minimalist Crash Balls is a game where the goal is to hit the ball on the portal, with 20 different levels :)
  • Hi,

Since the latest stable build, I'm experiencing an unusual amount of crashes on my project. While a couple have given an error report and allowed a save before restart, the last two have, more concerningly, frozen the editor. Both times this occurred was just as the project entered autosave.

As it's not really a reproducible issue that I can submit, I thought I'd check on here to see if anyone else is experiencing increase in crashes since the latest stable as well, or if it's just me.

    Cheers

  • My project which is about 27MB in size now crashes when I try to save it. Chrome freezes for a minute, and then shows "Oh Snap! Out of memory" screen. This happens on my laptop with 8GB ram, which used to handle much larger projects without any issues.

  • Here the animation editor is bugging when I open the editor and change some sprite when I close the editor and press ctrl +z it gives a fatal error

This appears to be fixed in the latest beta.

  • Just happened again. I'm pretty sure it was going to autosave and then just dumped me to this screen:

I realized I'm using the app in Edge, so going to jump over to Chrome and see if that makes any difference.

  • Okay, it happened again, the exact same as last time. I added a variable to an instance that's sitting on a global layer. The editor then freezes for a second before jumping to that screen ^.

Getting these crashes in project and c3p saves, with Edge and Chrome.

  • I think all this happened because the scirra team rushed this version to release the export for the new requirements of Google Play and it ended up being full of bugs but soon they fix it ^_^

  • That screenshot shows that the browser crashed with STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION. That's not Construct crashing, it's the browser, and so it's probably a problem the browser maker needs to fix, or possibly a system stability issue. Try installing any available software updates for your system or try a different browser.

  • Try Construct 3

  • I haven't had a crash yet, though I am mostly working in js currently.
