When does the free (or discounted) year timer start?

I'm eligible for a free year of C3 because I have an existing license for C2. Does that license start when C3 is out of beta or does it start when I make the purchase in the store?

I'd love to start playing around with C3 without limitations now, but I want to maximize the free year too.

The discount/free year starts when you purchase Construct 3. If you have 100% off your first year, you still have to enter credit/debit details then your free year starts.

Currently there is no expiration on these discounts set.
