  • I thought that Spriter outputed the frames of animation as separate images. Does it import the entire bone animation into the program and just rotate the images? I might need to better research it.

For sure in parts, you can export the entire robot, for example, like a GIF animation, or, export each part and mount inside the C2, but you'll be able to bone them only when Spriter plugin get read.

Search for Spriter plugin and you'll know what I'm talking about.

  • Its been a long time since I posted any updates to the game. I've been moving along mostly with concept stuff, but I was able to get some of the rough controls into the game. I still need to add more options to the flight controls and add the "catch mechanic". Regardless, Construct 2 is an amazing piece of software that I completely recommend to anyone wanting to start creating videogames and is intimidated by coding (basically me).

Test out my extremely rough prototype here: Superhero Test 11-9-12

Controls: Arrows to move. F to toggle Flying

  • Added a quick screen shot of the some art assets and a building template into the game. See on original post and view more updates at NeedYourDisease.com

  • Colour me impressed. Love the direction. Looking forward to playing it. Being a programmer(ie C++/Java... not C2 event system) I love that non coders can sit down and create games. It opens the doors to the imaginations of artists and other creative people who don't have the mind set to learn a language and structure.

kudo's to you and your work. These days I wish I was more an artist than a programmer. I like your style and it works well. Reminds me of old comics and cartoons :)

  • Thanks, I tried teaching myself C# for a long time and couldn't wrap my artist brain around it. Construct 2 is the sole reason I didn't have to give up on my game idea. But I'm still jealous of programmers. I regularly hit road blocks that a mind for programming could fix. The community here has been great for helping me get past those.

  • Awesome work sman! love ur art style, hope to see a playable demo soon :D

Still moving along slowly, but surely. Added in some more flight animations, the jump animation, a small smoke effect when lifting off, and replaced the silhouettes in the background.

A couple of bugs are in there that I'm working out. Still thought I would put up the most current build.

  • Thanks Stomphoof ! Couldn't have done it without Construct 2 and the help of their community.
