I've posted this preview several weeks ago on this forum, but it's *official* now. And since the html5 demo has been developed with C2, I think it can be shared there :)

    So...

Here is the project my team is currently working on: BIG BANG BATTLE!

Big Bang Battle is a cross between Pong/Breakout and Windjammers, born from our intense desire to play a multiplayer arcade game "with friends like old times! right now!". Since we didn't find what we were looking for, we decided to create it... and even though the current game content is limited, we have serious fun playing against each others.

This short preview has been developed by 2 people pretty quickly (we are 3 now!). Some elements may be temporary, but the global experience is closed to what we'd like to create. That's why we thought it would be cool to share this version beyond our personal circles in order to get feedback, questions or cheers, from casual to veteran gamers. Please share your opinion (good or bad), it will help us confirm what's great and what has to be improved.

The "real game" is under development and will be released in June 2013 on Windows/Mac/Linux and Ouya. It should allow 4 players max to play on the same screen (2vs2), with many characters/powers/arenas. Online multiplayer may be available on PC/Mac/Linux, depending on several factors... And gamepads will be supported on all platforms, of course.

As I said, we really wait for feedback, so feel free to share your thoughts on this topic or facebook/twitter. In both cases, it should be ok.

Well, we hope you'll enjoy Big Bang Battle, I'd recommend to play in versus mode if you can (since arcade games are always more fun with friends) et wish you a good time <img src="smileys/smiley41.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    Thanks!

  • I really like this game. Nice graphics and it plays nice. I think it should go mobile.

  • Awesome !!

  • Windjammers is one of my favorite games! :D

(I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it!)

This game looks quite good. The artwork is very good and professional-looking!

However, I don't think it plays as well as Windjammers. I think part of it has to do with the characters being relatively small. I've also noticed there is no way to aim your shots as well, like in Windjammers where you can your shots can curve, move at right angles, etc.

That being said, this game is pretty good as it is, but I think it needs some improvement. Tighten up the controls, and I'll think you'll have something here! :D

  • Thanks for your feedback! (all of you)

jogosgratispro: it could be an option... later! :) (but you're not the first person to tell me that)

Zero6: you're right, the gameplay isn't the same as Windjammers! This (fabulous) game was a reference (for veteran gamers) in term of "context" (1vs1 arena, arcade sport game), but as mentioned in the title/message, the gameplay is more like... an "improved Pong/Breakout". Once you know that, and with more experience, it makes sense and you can move and aim really accurately. I think the game is much harder to master than it seems.

I'll publish a gameplay footage soon to show what an experienced player (me ^^) can do. And I hope future players will be waaaay better than me, seeing them play would be a big show!

Actually, I didn't want to make a Windjammers clone (since I wanted to add some specific features like 2vs2 battles), but you're right (again), the game can be improved!

PS: I just realize I didn't mention Pong and Breakout in the title... Edited!
