  • Your friend is right. You better sell it with your own graphic and own idea. I've seen many fangames but most of them are being cancelled or terminated. Have you seen how Street of Rage Remake was dead? Even it's non-profit fangame but it's dead.

To me, Namco is as same as SEGA so you need to be careful about it.

Man, I hate it when corporations do that fan works will never do them any harm. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt="" title="Crying or Very Sad">

  • right took a little break from the project because I was getting burned out anyway which of these logos do you think looks better?

    or

also I spent the day drawing a castle for the game

Clock Block is funny.. although is there a clock in the game or a time to beat? The other ones lack pizzazz..

    How about just "Countdown"?

    or "Ready, Set, Fire"

    or "Action Jackson"

    or "Locked and Reloaded"

or how about simply "Reload!" (simple but effective!)

ripping off game designs is totally fine.. it's only the assets you need to be worried about. In fact (as I assume you are learning) it takes so much time to actual make a game good, that even if you did copy some one else's game by the time you finish it, it will have undoubtedly changed enough so that it's yours.

  • made a story intro

  • You have made some serious progress with the game since I last checked in! Happy to see that!

About the name, from the intro cinematic I understand the name Operation Countdown. I must say though, it is not the most appealing name. Watching the videos of the game a couple of the names that jobel came up with are seriously catchy! Reload! was my favorite and Action Jackson since it is just what it is - bullet storm action. Of course, you decide

  • i dig it

RELOAD! I like it, yeah I think I am going to go with reload, but I won't change the thread name just yet in case anyone can come up with anything better

  • hi everyone I have a problem right from the start of development I can't seem to get the preview on LAN to work so I have no idea if my game can work on tablets and phones I tried following all the tutorials but to no avail so is there any way to export the game as a exe which would work on a samsung galaxy tablet which I can then just copy to the tablet harddrive any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated

  • ok new problem, it turns out that my copy of McAfee was stopping me from previewing my game on tablets but now that I have turned it off my preview will not load on my tablet it starts the loading screen spends 5 minutes to get to the halfway point, then freezes I should point out I am not very technically minded I only really watched 2 basic construct 2 tutorials and then got right into programming my first game I don't know anything about memory usage I am afraid my game won't work on tablets.

(edit) I tried loading an earlier version of my game from months back and it loads slowly but it does start It would appear that I have made my game to large to work on tablets

  • PrinceofMars I played the demo and its fantastic. The only problem I had is the gameover screen got stuck so I needed to use the task manager to exit the game. The sound effects and action are great the game is a bit hard on normal but Iam not used to playing so that might be why it felt tough.

Music and sounds are perfect, pixel art is done well to make it look 3D. As far as running your game on mobile device I would actually have to see some code.

1st what resolution is your game?

2nd What are the size of your images?

As you answer questions I may be able to pin point the problem.

  • Thank you I never know if what I am working on is any good It's nice to know I have not wasted the last 5 months as for the game over my bad I totally forgot to program the game over screen I will fix that when I put it in the scirra arcade as for the difficulty I think that's just because you are new I can blast through it on hard and not get hit but I did make the game. Now, unfortunately if I want to put it in the Arcade I am going to have to replace all the sound effects since when I upload the game it says do you own the copyright to all the material in the game and of course I ripped the sounds from TimeCrisis.

As for my game's resolution you know I don't know I only really learnt the basics of C2 and jumped in to game making as for the sprite sizes vary from 26x33 pixels for the basic henchmen all the way to 311x662 pixels for the larger sprites I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide here is the cap if you want to give it a look over

  • PrinceofMars I am looking over it now. Go ahead and delete the link to your capx file.

  • PrinceofMars You used 3rd party plugins so I can't open the files. I did breakdown your capx into folders and took a look. You have a ton of graphics and sounds in your game but they all look fine not too big at all.

What did you need the 3rd party plug-ins for? I'am asking because it seems like you could make this game without them. Sometimes 3rd party plugins break device compatibility.
