How do I make a sprite follow a drawn line?

You've all heard of the popular game 'Flight Control'? Well, you may have forgotten but here is a picture to jog your memory:

The aim of the game is to guide planes into the airport without them crashing. You do this by drawing a flight path for each of the planes on the screen.

My question is, how can I draw a line similar to the one in the picture above (the dashed line) and then set a sprite to follow it?

Please note, I am not making a clone of this game but need the feature I have just written about... Thanks for reading!

It works but the player does not follow the line smoothly...

Sometimes an exact example is not available, but there is sometimes something similar that can be understand and adapted for one's purpose. That's part of the fun

Then you have 2 choices:

1) fix it

2) hire someone to fix it.

I'm not trying to be rude, but that is a awesome example and if that isn't good enough, or good enough to get you on your way then chances are very very slim that anything anyone else offers up isn't going to be of any help, unless we build it for you...

As zenox98 says, you will never find an exact example, heck, you are lucky if you find anything remotely close to what you are after.

Just want to double check - was it the R0j0hound example you tested?

There was a slight fix for that, which I've attached. As far as I can see, this has smooth movement.
