• I'm going to try my first touch game that will both be for Web and Mobile however I really want to cater to the Mobile side more with this one. I'm using the free version now but I will be upgrading in a couple of weeks so with that said do I need to make 2 games? One for mobile view and one for Web or will it convert it to what it needs to be? I'm just not sure how to design for it layout size wise.

I've tried to view my web games with my phone and it's so tiny...

What is the best layout and any other C2 design tips to help with designing for mobile (Cell, Tablet) and for the web without doing a lot of double work.

    Thank you in advance..

  • I've found that for portrait orientations, the resolutions 640 x 960 or 320x480(fairly small, not good for upscaling) with fullscreen browser mode set to "Scale outer" work well.

As for landscape, either 1920 x 1080 or 960 x 540 with fullscreen browser mode set to "Letterbox scale" works very nicely for both desktop and mobile. This option results in a bigger game screen for desktop players.

Mostly, it depends on your target mobile platform.

  • Very good, thank you...

  • Try Construct 3

  • ALLMarkMade You can also use this to see how it'll look on multiple devices: responsivetest.net

  • TwinTails thank you very much for you time and knowledge. I tried to play Kitty Catch but there was nothing there.

    Thanks again.

  • ALLMarkMade No problem! Happy to help

Btw, just noticed I mixed up 2 of the resolutions... it should be

    Portrait: 640 x 960 or 320 x 480

    Landscape: 1920 x 1080 or 960 x 540 (half size)

I'll edit the original post too.

As for Kitty Catch, I had planned to have a HTML5 version I've been working on up by now but... it's not quite ready yet! So I've changed the link to redirect to it's page on the Play Store for now. Thanks.

  • Ok my friend thank you again... It's much appreciated.

  • TwinTails Oh I meant to ask what about margins???

  • ALLMarkMade Sorry for the late reply, I've just seen your message now :/

What specifically do you mean by margins? Margins within the available screen area(canvas)? or margins outside the content area? (white space/black lines)
