How do I put shadow on text?

Hey all! I was wondering, how do I put a drop shadow on text?

The easiest way is to make two text objects with identical text. One light color, and one black for the shadows. Then put the black one under the light one.

Or you can make a sprite font with per-rendered shadows. There is a great plugin in the Tools section.

Hey jojoe, could you (or anybody else) help me out? Duplicating text will not work in my case. Could you please show me where the shadow plugin is (I can't find it), and maybe a tutorial on how to use it (if there is one)?

Hey Somebody, I've downloaded/installed your DropShadow plugin, but I really don't get how to use it? Can yo help me please? Does it work with texts, or only objects?

That plugin only works with sprites , and inside the sprites bounding box. iirc. It might work with backgrounds too.

Just type something in the box, and you will see how it works.

They are just 2 instances of the same text, only different colors. i do 2 examples with different offsets.

Otherwise try using a sprite-font, then you can pre-render shadows.
