Detect object corners and pick the closest one

Hi,

I'm trying to make the player pick the corners of the objects automatically (tiled backgrounds ) but i've only managed to make character pic always the same one out of few. The idea is to pic the closes corner of closest object player is facing and anly the ones that are above him.
