Convert Sprite to Silhouette?

Not sure if one of the new effects will achieve this, but I haven't been able to find one. I basically want to convert my player sprite to a silhouette and be able to choose the color. Any ideas?

I believe the effect you are after is 'set RGB'.

(Not sure it's called exactly that, but it's something along those lines)

'Set color' does this, but like other shaders requires WebGL. It's best to just do this in an external image editor and switch the animation frame rather than use the shader, if you don't need to dynamically alter it - that way doesn't require WebGL and renders faster too.

I'm going to test it as a shadow for my player character as long as it isn't too intensive on the computer. Edit: Found that I can just destroy it if they don't have WebGl.

I could probably do a batch convert in photoshop if this doesn't work. Just thought it would be cool effect.

Or you could make use of blend mode. Drop outline sprites onto a separate layer that's under character layer and set blend to... eh, don't remember what, just experiment with it.
