Collision and better movement

I am new here I looked on "[How do I]Frequently asked questions" it is pretty awesome thanks. But I can not find anywhere simple collision with objects I think in game like diablo (view from top and movement by holding mouse button). Can anyone help me with some explanation?

And other thing I want to create in this game movement with "mouse button down" and something like pathfinding. I mean if there will be some wall or something solid character will avoid it and find way around to reach that mouse position.

I hope it will be enought understandable because my english is not pro :).
