This Student Workbook uses both Construct 3 & 2 encoding. It supplies client-side & php "back-end" encoding.
  • I've searched everywhere (I think) and couldn't find any info on the topic so thought I'd sign up and ask.

But basically, I'm wanting to map simple movement controls for use with the D-Pad on my Xperia Play and also to map one button as the jump control. My game works using the arrow keys and shift key on my computer, I was hoping to change these for use on my Play.

Is this at all possible? And if so does anybody know how?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Hi,

I'm a xperia play user too.

Xperia Play buttons has its own keycode that are unique to other devices. This is the Key Mapping Table:

I think you can't use this keymap on HTML5, at least not at today's version of construct2. Try java :p

  • Now we can build android apps using PhoneGap I just thought I would bump this to see if anyone had a solution?

At the time there was no 'How Do I...' sub-section of the forum so this may now need moving? But thanks in advance for your help anyway.

  • Since this post the custom plugin keycode was released.

I haven't tested it, but it should make it possible to use the keycodes of xperia with C2.

I added this topic to the how do I FAQ under the section "General/misc. questions".

For now there doesn't seem to be a lot of topic about the Xperia. If more pops up, I might make a section for it in the FAQ.

    Sounds good to you ?

  • Might be better to have an "Input" section in the FAQs as it would make more sense, even if its the only one there at the moment.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Sounds good to me. Really keen to get this working but I'm more of a follow a tutorial game maker at the minute, I'm kind of new to it all so I'll wait until someone is kind enough to confirm they have it working before I spend hours getting no where lol. Thanks.

  • I've come to realise that I would be waiting a while for a tutorial so spent the last day or so trying to work this out. So far, extremely unsuccessful! lol

Has anybody had any luck at all?

Thanks in advance for your help.
