I would like to know, firstly if the NW.js module for Construct2 is integrated into the actual application or a separate application within the software? Secondly, I have a question about NW.js use and where I can find in depth documentation on it's use.

Any help in answering these two questions would be appreciated.

NWjs is a separate installation needed when you want to create a standalone executable. The latest version can always be found HERE.

The main external site for NWjs is HERE.

The manual entry covers NWjs quite well, IMO.
