  • Hi Guys

I am using the r116 and just trying out the Jungle Platform tutorial. I have a problem with the snailEnemy and the Edgemarker.

The Snailenemy collides with the Edgmarker and turns around and goes left and right, but after a while it collides on the left or right and falls off the platform.

Not sure if we have a bug. I only have one snail currently.

    Thanks

    Tony

  • Please see how to report bugs, you need to provide a capx and precise steps to reproduce the issue.

  • I see this at times in r114 so it may not be a bug in r116, it may be that the way the detection is occurring and where the snail is happens too late for it to turn around. frame rate, position of the marker near the edge and a couple other things could also cause this. Try adjusting the location of the edge marker (move it farther in) or possibly make it a bit bigger as well and see if that helps at all. I would recommend trying in the last stable build (r114) as well and see if you see the same issue. Though you will have to start the tutorial over as the r116 built capx will not work in r114.

    hope this helps, thanks!

  • Closing as per what Kyatric said, this is probably just a mistake in your events and not a Construct 2 bug. My telepathic debugging isn't so good these days so I won't attempt to comment otherwise.

  • Sorry

    Here is the capx

  • tonygil - it's not a Construct 2 bug. You need to make sure the origin is correctly placed centrally (use the 2 key on the num pad as a shortcut) for the object to mirror properly.

  • No its the bounding box polygon thing which is causing the snail to fall off.Go to polygon collision and set every frame to guess polygon boundaries. The collision box changes its width each frame causing it to touch the edgemarker twice thats why the snail goes left again.
