  • Sometimes while deleting layouts from the Projects lists it shows me this message window:

"NVIDIA OpenGL driver detected a problem with the display driver and is unable to continue. The application must close.

    Please visit nvidia.com/page/support.html for help.

    Error code: 4"

    C2 r57, Win 7 64, Nvidia Geforce GTX 570

  • Have you tried updating your drivers? Egh, hard to do much if nVidia want to write crappy drivers.

  • yeah i did. Been trying to force it and was able to crash it everytime i have deleted two layout in the row. oh well it's nvidia... meant to be played, not deleting ;)

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • These kinds of bugs drive me absolutely crazy because I have no good way to fix it: it's a driver bug and I don't have your driver, so it's very time consuming to fix it. I have to keep guessing what might fix it, then sending you a test build, and so on.

I genuinely think the easiest thing to do is to report a bug to nVidia. It's their fault anyway. Sure, drivers can return error codes and fail to render, but they should never crash. I can't believe how crappily most drivers are written, and then we have to work around it. :-\</p>

  • Don't worry, it's not your fault. I bet you did already dozens of that kind of a workarounds. And for the Nvidia, I've just send them a question abiut that.

  • There's a problem with an ATI card in another thread. I wonder if I should write a software renderer for the layout view... that would be boring, complicated and very time consuming, when I'm already pressed for time, and only because huge corporations with thousands of employees don't know how to write drivers <img src="smileys/smiley6.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> this sucks...

  • There's a french saying that once roughly litteraly translated goes like this:

"Never better served than by oneself"

I liked the little peak thrown at "huge corporations with thousands of employees [who] don't know how to write drivers" <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Now let's wait and see Nvidia's support's reaction.

I tried reporting an issue to ATI. I got forwarded in circles then ignored. Don't get your hopes up.

  • Well, looks like boring, complicated, and very time-consumin's gonna have to be the way to go...

Maybe you should try reading ironic Dilbert comics to pass the time?

(Forgive me for not really adding much content to the discussion. I'm having problems with my graphics card as well, so it's kind of ingratiating for me, too.)

  • Oh that was quick
