iOS Safari sound loss

Problem Description

When leaving any Construct2 game on Safari (iOS) by using home button and then reopening the game very quickly - it causes the loss of sound.

Everything is fine if game is reopened after a longer time.

Steps to Reproduce Bug

• Turn on any C2 game on Safari (iOS) and make sure there is audio
• Leave the game
• Reopen it instantly

Observed Result

Loss of sound

Expected Result

No loss of sound

Googled other HTML5 game - the problem does not occur. It is Construct2 bug.

I also have this problem with cordova exported games

As per the bug report guidelines, can you test this on r231? We may have fixed this already.

Ashley around 50% of reproduction. No change between 231 and older C2 version exports.

Can you provide a minimal .capx as per the bug report guidelines? We do not normally investigate bugs with complete projects, or with projects that have any significant amount of content unrelated to the bug.

You just need an iOS device and any Construct2 project with sound in it... If You can't reproduce the bug in ~10 times - please let me know and i will test again myself with newest C2 beta version to make sure Your fix works fine.

Can't reproduce on Safari iOS 9 on an iPad Air 2. I tried pressing the home button and tapping the Safari icon as soon as possible afterwards, sometimes so soon the audio did not appear to stop in between, and it always resumed correctly. I did it many times repeatedly as fast as possible, worked fine every time.

Problem can be reproduced on iphone 6s (iOS 9.3) . Newest stable version of C2 and XDK to date.

Edit : The problem seems to go away when i put music files to sounds folder in C2. I know that the solution is not pretty (high memory consumption, especially if you have more music tracks) but that seems to be the only way.

Just letting You know that the problem is still there. Reproduced on different iPads and iPhones in the store

I did look in to this and could not find anything wrong. If you want further investigation please try to find a more reliable way to reproduce the problem, or more clearly describe the exact steps and timing (perhaps a video would help), and file a new bug since this report is now closed.
