  • Problem Description

When I try to open Construct 2 I get a error message:

"Construct2.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic link library Construct2.exe"

When I check Eventviewer it returns this info:

    event id 26 level 4 construct2.exe

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    • Install latest Stable build, 64-bit
    • Next day try to open it. Returns error message: Can't find &"%.DLL Try to fix problem reinstalling software
    • Install latest beta build, 64-bit
    • Works fine the first day. I'm checking all the example projects, some are limited due to free version.
    • The second day it returns the message I'm here now.

  • I am having the same issue. Have tried installing it on three different computers now, works fine the first time I launch it, but after that Construct doesn't work on that computer ever, even if I reinstall. All those computers have also had a finnish version of Windows like OP, could this be the cause? Could this have something to do with the special characters perhaps? The error message I am getting is "The program could not open because åö?.dll is missing from the computer. Try to fix the problem by reinstalling. "

    EDIT: XML for me

The error message isn't identical, but both are caused by .dll files. Could still be related, I think.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I´m also experiencing a similar problem (weird dll-file missing, or entry point can´t be found).

There is a thread with much more info here:

I seem to be able to use beta 226, but not version 227, 228 or 229.

Thanks! I tried some of the previous versions, but this one works for me!

  • It's solved for me as well by reverting to r266. I would like to know when it's fixed so I can update the software.

  • Gede09 mindragon73 Alphatiko Whatever it was that was causing issues with r227, r228 and r229 seems to be fixed now as the latest beta release r230 is opening/working normally, at least on my system. Just thought to let you know in case you are still experiencing problems and want to try to update to a newer version.

  • Waltuo Thanks for posting! I will try someday.

  • Thank you!

Yes, version 230 seems to work!

  • Just started to happen on multiple computers with r233.
