C2 takes a loooong time to start

Problem Description

Backed up by this post. C2 now takes an age to start. In fact, my Windows machine starts from cold faster than C2 does... But it wasn't always this way.

r239 - 8 secs

r244 - 11 secs

r249 - 23 secs

Steps to Reproduce Bug

• Start stopwatch
• Start C2
• Repeat with r239 and compare.

Observed Result

r249 is much slower to start.

Expected Result

Start times should be similar between releases.

60 seconds on the dot.

I've always had this issue with Construct 2 on my end. Usually grabbing a cup of coffee during the wait.

Using the Steam version and it takes about 15 seconds when starting C2 for the first time. (4-6 seconds for all starts after the first one.)

Closing projects is also slow and freezes the editor.

I made a few changes to improve startup time in r250. Is it better now?

It's slightly better, 1-2sec. faster on my end.

Nice, had forgotten how fast C2 used to load for me And mine is not installed on the SSD
