  • Ok, that isn't too bad. But it's hard to get traffic after you leave the front page of greenlight Do you get any traffic to your game Star Nomad on steam? Or do you have to work for the traffic yourself?

I have a really good yes ratio this week but yesterday it poured in no votes for some reason and when I checked google analytics I saw that almost all of them came from the scirra forum. Not that it matters or changed anything but I would never vote down another construct game. If I didn't like it I would rather not vote at all. But that's just me hehe

  • Wolph I see. I didn't realize that you wanted to prevent people from clicking on stuff outside the actual game window. I make all my games full screen so haven't even thought of that problem. But now I understand you want to prevent the mouse from leaving the game area.

Hope you'll find a good workaround.

  • Do you have to save the game and go back to the exact point on the layout or just go back to the layout?

Usually you have the menu as a hidden layer on the layout and when you press the esc key for example the game pauses and the hidden menu layer is then unhidden. And when you press esc again the layer disappears and the game unpauses.

But lets say that you have made a own layout for the level and want to go back. Then make a variable and name it "Layout" that stores the name of the layout. So when you press the esc key > set variable to "layout name" and go to menu layout. Then when you want to go back from the menu and you press the esc key > go to layout by name "Layout"

You will then come back to the last layout you were on before you went to the menu. Hard to explain but hope you understand. Don't forget to set the variable as a text variable.

But I would recommend having the menu on a hidden layer instead. Or are you talking about the main menu?

  • Olive Thank you for the numbers. My game is 76% to the top 100 and has about 51% yes votes. But I guess it all depends on the share amount of yes votes. How many yes votes in total did you need? No exact numbers but are we talking several thousand?

ANyway, when can I buy your game on steam?

  • Doesn't it work to do it like this? Everytime that animation ends for every copy of that sprite 100 gets added to points. By making it a trigger the points will only be added once everytime the trigger is triggered

  • sqiddster Yeah, I guess. But wired controllers works just fine. Worst case scenario I'll put a varning in the game and tell them not to put their controller down If their controller dies they get game over. So then it's a game mechanic

  • Try Construct 3

  • This is a way of doing it but it is just a quick demo. You can make it much smoother if you fine tune it a bit <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile"> This way is super simple and without plugins. Took me about 2min.

  • I haven't had any problems with gamepads on my 4 player game except when a wireless gamepad turns off or is out of battery. Then you can't reconnect it in any way and have to restart the game for it to be found again. I've searched and asked on the forum but no solution

It is quite a gamebreaker because if you're idle and don't use the controllers for some time they usually turns off to save battery and then you have to restart everything. And this is a real hazzle when it's a multiplayer game without a save function.

  • Usually you make your own hitboxes and attach them to the player where you want them to be. The collision polygon is just a simple quickfix for simple models.

So you can have one for the head and one for the torso and so on. Not that complicated really

  • I got the warning yesterday and the other mail today. But the last email ended up in my spam folder for some reason. But if you check the other thread you can see that others got the last email as well

  • Nice, congratulations! Are you ready to publish?

May I ask how long it took and how many yes votes you needed to get greenlit?

Our game is also on greenlight and very close to the top 100 but I hate that you don't have any idea of when you'll be greenlit

    BTW, the game looks amazing

  • Radulepy The problem was the OpenSLL on crosswalk 7 and all other crosswalk versions had bad performance which made it impossible to switch. I also got the warnings from google but they now emailed me and said that they wont take down the apps made with cw7.

So I guess that it is solved now. But if you want to republish it with another crosswalk version you can because it seems like they finally found a solution for the bad performance on the later crosswalk versions and you should be able to export the game with good performance again even if you are using crosswalk 10+
