  • I know it does make the download "smaller and harder to decompile" but by what means?

    At first I assumed it would resize pictures and compress audio (in case I have a 10 megapixel background image I forgot about etc). It could also delete unused things I added to the project. Another thing it could do is renaming assets (e.g. to "3241.ogg" instead of "Super Cool Corporate Music Bought at xxxxx.xxx for five dollars.ogg").

    Does it do any of the above? If not, what does it do?

  • Ok, so if I touch a sprite, all the spites below it will also receive the 'on touched' event trigger. Good.

    I've checked my polygons but they are fine. Now it seems the problem may lie elsewhere: my Area1 (as in the example) consists of a few transparent rectangular sprites because of its complicated shape.

    So maybe the Area1 event is not triggered when I accidentaly touch the small gap between the components. Will check...

    Situation:

    There's a big transparent sprite called Area1.

    There's a sprite called Circle1 somewhere overlapping Area1.

    Question: Does touching Circle1 also activate what's below, i.e. the On Touched Object event of Area1?

    Right now it seems that in most cases this is indeed the case, but not always. Sometimes only the topmost object's event 'kicks in'. How is it supposed to work?

    How would I go about making a working audio progress bar? It would need to work the same way as in any random music player, i.e. correspond to the current music position and be clickable/draggable to change the position?

    I'm not sure if this is at all possible, could you point me in the right direction?

  • Ah, so, as I see it, the two distribution channels - the website and Steam are completely independent and probably the nature of Steam distribution does not allow for granting all existing users free codes. Unfortunately that makes sense.

    I have bought a license directly from the site and then I thought it would be nice to have a Steam version that would auto install and auto update. Then I found the information that "Unfortunately we cannot offer Steam keys to future purchases from our site".

    Why is that?

    This is not much of a problem, just curious.

    Darklinki, your solution is fine but it doesn't prevent placing a coin multiple times in a cell.

    blackhornet, that .capx saved my sanity! It turned out it was all because of a syntax error. As you can see in the screenshot I was making the condition "value at Board.At(RandomPlace)" which doubles the AT. When changed to simply "value at RandomPlace" - works like a charm. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hi, I just bought the personal license a couple of days ago. I have some experience with native programming and semi-native programming (as in Basic4Android). I must say the purchase of C2 feels really rewarding, especially compared to other similar software at x times the price or a monthly/yearly fee.

    [A small digression: if Photoshop and the like cost this sort of money instead of the ridiculous $591247832, Adobe would make much bigger money]

    As to the performance, it is just something you have to deal with for now. For example, I made a simple Fruit-Nija-esque game (not so many objects and effects, but quite a lot of dynamic movement). On my Nexus 7 the performance is ok but on my old Samsung Galaxy S1 it's totally unplayable (skipping frames etc.). Of course there are WAY more advanced games that run smoothly on the latter.

    But, as others have pointed out, it will be getting better.

    Then, I'm still not convinced about the whole underlying HTML5 thing but it comforts me when I read how enthusiastic people are about it here. Though I admit I *would* feel better with a native exporter.

    All in all, I try to look at it this way: if I was to make apps using native programming it would require a massive time investment which I can't afford. With C2 I can JUST do whatever I want and concentrate on the creative process without keeping reinventing the wheel - and I really, really love it. Plus I'm allowed to make money with it. So, if the price I have to pay for it is HTML5 and a drop in performance that will be reduced over time then I think this price is a REAL steal.
