  • You need to create a global variable to keep the score "in memory". Then you need to create a text object and use what he said.

If you're using a text object to count the score (?) you're doing it wrong.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Make a global variable called Score, for example. Every time you kill an enemy or whatever, add to that variable.

Make a text objet (or text sprite) in the second layout. Then call that variable from the event sheet (use Set text "Score :" & Score)

  • Only download stable releases once a month then. Check the changelog to see if there are features that are worth it or that apply to you.

  • Understood! Good luck, amariscal.

  • Make different variables, set them differently or use instance variables for specific things?

  • I don't see why someone would pay for a license that you're going to use to make money with... doesn't seem like a good investment to me.

You guys should save and invest in it. I payed for the license myself and I'm an individual. A company should be able to spare for such an affordable license.

  • I'd pin it. Just because I like the sound of it. <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Very nice. I had to load the page twice before I got the game to work :)

  • Create a family? Use groups in the event sheet? I'm having a hard time understanding your problem.

  • Sorry for necroposting, but I'm also having this problem. How did you fix it, gerris?

To me, it only happens when I export with XDK to android.

  • Maybe using different event sheets for each API and then triggering different functions depending on the URL would be an option? I just don't know how to detect the host...

I mean, I would like to export my project only once and upload it to multiple sites at the same time, since I fix bugs and add features quite often.

  • Hello everyone,

I was wondering if there are some good practices on how to implement different website APIs in the same project. Let's say I want to have leaderboards and achievements on Gamejolt, clay.io and Newgrounds, how should I go about this? Use the same conditions and trigger everything at the same time, regardless of the website it's hosted or is there any way to detect the website in which the game is hosted?

I am no expert in this matter and I'd like your opinion.

    Thanks :)
