  • farfetchd83 this could be a coincidence, but I have not had the problem since moving my projects from Google Drive to Dropbox. Ashley could the recent Google changes have an effect here?

    EDIT: nope, I take that back.. it still happens.. just happened to me twice in a row. It definitely has something to with "going fast" and quickly starting and closing the preview. Because it seems to only happen when I test small things that need a quick back-and-forth (opposed to longer form testing)

  • newt well in Unity colliders are separate components. they use sphere colliders to cast rays, so it makes sense in 3D.

    but maybe you are onto something with a stretched 2D collision polygon, it's why I mentioned Collision At Offset could maybe used in a similar way?

  • yup that is what happened. there was a new Google policy and sharing was disabled.

    although now I started using Dropbox and I like it a lot better, but I still need to use Drive for team/group stuff.

  • Nepeo In Sebastian's boid example he uses a SphereCast function, which checks for a possible collision of the size of the boid rather than just a ray intersection, so in a way it's like pathfinding.

    C3 doesn't have anything like that except Overlapping at Offset, but not in a line (like a raycast).

  • Specifically when you manually enter a RGB or HSL value then hit a hot-key, the hot key doesn't work and you are forced to mouse click.

    i.e.

    -Hit 'I'to pick a color

    -Adjust the alpha value

    -Hit 'B' (nothing happens because you are still on the "form" control)

    -Mouse Click Brush

    seems like a little thing, but it definitely hurts workflow. And sometimes you don't realize your hotkey didn't work, then you click again and are still on the eye-dropper..

    Any plans to change this? or is there a way to get off the form with a button? Enter/Return doesn't work.

    There is a definite need for a new movement behavior that is more AI-driven. This could be extrapolated to all kinds of uses.

  • mekonbekon hey this is great! I love how you set it up with the sliders..

    one thing that is weird, when there's a potential head-on-collision the boid doesn't react, it just collides and moves through. Did you do this purposefully? even when I increased the avoidance range it seemed to not do anything about incoming collisions. Just wondering what you thought process was here..

  • Ashley I should also add that I use my school Google-ID and I noticed where it says "domain admins have disabled Drive apps". Could this have something to do with the school? Could they have inadvertently restricted access somehow?
