  • 'Download a copy' moves the C3 file to my downloads folder with no option of where to actually store it. Is there any way I can save it to a directory of my chosing, or have it simply overwrite the file I'm working on?

This would make it much more like a desktop app (I'm using the 'desktop' version, saved from Chrome).

Ideally I would hit save and it would save over the local file (in Dropbox).

At the moment I have to: Download a copy > close project > copy project file to correct folder in Dropbox > reopen project

I tried the actual desktop version (Beta) when it first came out, but it corrupted my project after a single save, so I'm not to keen to try that again.

    Thanks

  • Me too! Consider at least one more purchase when it's ready.

  • I did try searching...

[quote:i15797a4]The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: nw js.

When I export my game using nw.js, I'm wondering if there's a way to make things a bit harder for people trying to view game files/assets/music etc. At the moment you can open package.nw with any basic archiving program and everything's there. Music, effects, sprite sheets and so on.

    Thanks

  • Thanks for the plugin, hopefully I can get it working correctly

I'm using Construct 3. I have an event on my first layout to load all objects from the following layout. My first layout is a video that plays for 2 minutes. I have set a lazy load with an interval of 6 seconds. That is more than enough time to load all assets for the second layout.

My issue is that at least once during the 2 minute video, the video pauses (where the loading of assets starts, I guess), and it lasts for around 2 seconds. It's pretty disjointed at the moment.

Am I using your plugin incorrectly? Is there a better way to do it?

    Thanks.

  • Thank you!

  • I assume the best way to detect if a player is close to something (like a switch, close enough to touch it) is to use an invisible sprite that they come in contact with, something big enough to surround the object. When they do, the switch becomes clickable (and an outline is present).

Is there a better way before I get too ahead of myself? I will be using this quite a bit.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Yes! Project saves. Now every time I save, it doesn't resave the ~1GB of video I'm currently using. Thanks!

Edit: FYI I spent 30 mins making some changes, saved it as a project, tried to open it again and the app crashes. No error code or message.

  • Will do

Here's a new error tonight though, I can't even access the editor. This continually shows:

Tried enabling/disabling ad blocker - no difference

  • Do you have Steam or Messenger? Something quicker than asking questions here? I am happy to pay for a myriad of questions I will have in the future.

    Thanks

  • Try Construct 3

    Thanks

  • It doesn't seem to work out of the box.

If I open that template now, set the stage width to 500x500, the player is still able to go outside of the screen, and the camera doesn't follow. Eg:

    youtu.be/90HCW7Tu_Vk

  • Sometimes I will simply open it, go and do something, and it's crashed when I return. I have already saved a few of the error messages for when I report them.

From what I read, it's out of Beta, but it feels like an Alpha.

Is there an optimum way of using it? At the moment I've saved the icon to my desktop (as per the app's own instructions) and load/save files to Dropbox.

    For whatever it's worth:

    8700K/GTX1080/32GBRAM/Chrome/Paid subscription

    Thanks
