  • ...unbelievable.

So... opening the unedited CAPX file in Construct 3, and saving it as a c3p file was good. And... huh.

So all it took was just converting the file again. We didn't even need to delete any coding in Visual Studio.

I need to take a lap... I am in awe.

  • Ashley I'm actually currently using the latest release of C3.

dop2000 Alright, I'll do just that and update you on what happens next.

I really appreciate the help by the way.

  • I spoke too soon. I seriously spoke too soon.

Like, I go and open the "Player Events" sheet for a few moments... all seems good... go to do some level design... and then I open the player sheet again and all of a sudden... this happens.

  • (A continuation of the previous project)

    construct.net/en/forum/construct-3/how-do-i-8/failed-open-projecterror-165699

After removing the event block in my project file as told, I went and converted the project into a c3p file and went to work immediately. As I opened one of the event sheets, this error immediately pops up out of nowhere.

More info about what's happened below... and I'll also be uploading a download of the c3p file... but as a result I can't do any coding to this event sheet. I'm very worried if I might end up being forced to delete everything, resulting in hundreds of hours of coding being lost to this setback.

  • UPDATE: Alright, it's worked flawlessly. I don't regret getting the upgrade.

Thanks for all the help, I would have lost 8+ months' worth of work if not for the advice. Now it's about time I get back to work.

  • Alright, thanks for all the help nonetheless. I guess this is the part where I upgrade now.

  • I have finally gotten the money for it, so I think I'll make the switch sometime later this week. I thank you for all the help.

If I may though, I'd like to recieve a build of the fixed version of the game I've been working on so that I can start from there. I'll definetely keep this fix in mind though.

Thank you for all the help, I'd lose about 8 months of work if not for you.

  • You know what? I think you're right. I think it might just be about high time I got myself an upgrade.

I'll always love Construct 2, but since I'm making games full-time now... could probably use the extra oompf to my project/

  • Try Construct 3

  • Woke up one morning to try working on my project... and only to come to this.

I tried converting the project into a Construct 3 project, I opened it in Visual Studio, I reloaded and compressed the project over and over again, opened it on different computers, there is something very wrong with the event sheet.

It started when I imported new audio files to my project, but I have not actually made any coding... I just imported audio to my project, and this one single bug that has LITERALLY NOTHING to do with what just occured, just occured.

This project is over 8 months in the making, and I'm doing my best to keep myself composed... I'm wanting to see if it might be possible to fix this.

I've tried replicating the bug in an older build, but nothing has happened at all. So, for whatever reason it's something wrong with this version.

I'm wondering if it might be possible to fix this bug so I can be sure to get back to work ASAP.

Here's the link to the project file, any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  • I've noticed that on the Original Scirra.com site, all the links EXCEPT the store links would come to this site. I've been wondering for awhile..

The new website UI is amazing and all, but I've seen a lot of effort that was put into the Scirra Store, with all its community contributions and all, and it made me wonder. Since we all moved to this site now, I've started to question if I should still even get myself a seller license for the Scirra Store. Especially since all the other links would come to Construct.net.

Are we ever going to update and include the Scirra Store to Construct.net? A lot of people have used the store to upload and buy assets, and it would be a shame to have to transfer to another storefront, since its a little harder to access the Store now.

  • You know.. you COULD just use a Particles Object just to compliment the effect of confetti. You can basically use different colored particles for each confetti color and just make them fire off as one volley of confetti.

    It's really very simple, y'know.

  • Well.. i'm just trying to look for a more clear step-by-step process on how I can upload my games. I don't find any tutorials, or even any links on how exactly I can upload my games to any of the platforms I listed. Tips, help, actual proper instructions, that sort of thing.

I can't go online for very often, so its harder to see how I can do any exporting for my games. Are there any links on how I can properly upload my games? I'm not wanting to use my money into exporting if I don't know where or how I can upload my stuff.
