  • Thank you so much TenginE!

I would love to release to Play Store but for now the 90$ per year don‘t look to tempting. And because of my not ideal pricing modle my android download numbers do not look too good yet.

I can‘t wait to start working on an in app purchase system. But also don‘t know yet what is best doable in C3 (for me) and what is actually suited best. E. g. every 10 entries / days show one not skip-able fullscreen add, one month free use and then one time purchase, unlock premium features like delete and export entries, banner adds, subscription modle... :P

I will have a look into this topic as soon as I will have the time. Any help, tips or advice is greatly appreciated!

    Have a great day!

    Chris

  • Hello fellow C3 developers :)

f*** yeah, it's released! My next project will be a game again, but since this is my first Play Store release I would like to proudly share this little passion project of mine, which I have been working hard on for the past months.

F*** YEAH | The One Minute Diary

is a mindfulness calendar. No Schnick Schnack. And a bit of cheeky copywriting, suiting the concept that is as simple as it gets.

I learned so much about Construct and improved my personal workflow in general. I also got pretty ok with improving the responsiveness of Construct projects, utilized Construct's Date Plugin for the first time and found a way to make every on-screen keyboard - IOS or Android - work, with a quiet simple workaround. I tried to up my UI design game and tried improving my UX design within the boundaries of what is still efficient and doable as a one person dev team.

If you have any questions, I can't wait to hear from you.

I have been playing around with the idea of starting making tutorials, but my social media reactions never insisted there is much interest :P

    Hoping you like the idea.

    Have a great day!

  • bartalluyn thanks :)

I guessed so, I think I was just to dumb ... I mean unexperienced to "read" your suggested code / implement it exactly how you meant it. But as said I got what you were going for and it enabled me as a kick-off in the exact right direction.

    Have a great day!

  • Hiho BadMario,

thanks for your input ... pun intended :D

    That is true indeed. But

    1. only if I also create my own "Text Input field" as well (supporting scroll and break and all that stuff) and

    2. most importantly: I think all users of this target audience at least prefer to use their own familiar OS's keyboard. Imagine WhatsApp had its own keyboard.

    3. And since I got it working, I don't have to worry about it anymore too.

Have you had good experiences building your own on-screen keyboard?

    I'm stoked to learn more!

    Have a great day,

    Chris

  • blackhornet <3 IT IS WORKING :)))

:D I can't believe it. Makes so much sense! Thank you so so much!!

I hope this helps others in the future.

    Have a great day!

  • Hello dop2000!

    Thanks again for your help!!!

I tried using the scaling. But it is really hard to control on multiple devices and ratios etc.

But I was able to get a reliable result (a little bit brute-forcing it) by resizing my input UI on every tick the Input Mode is active. This is due to the fact that especially Android is "readjusting" the app on multiple occasions (when opening the keyboard, sometimes when the input field is focused, etc.)

I feel ok doing so because everything else in this mode is not really performance heavy - it gave me the most reliable results.

I will post a screenshot from my code, but it won't be very representative. It just shows my responsive scaling:

But here is how it looks on IOS

    vs Anroid

I will most likely share the whole file once the app is finished and maybe do quick tutorials on certain aspects of the project if people are interested in it.

    Good night everybody ;)

    Best,

    Chris

  • Hi bartalluyn,

I thought I got it done with your help. But my February is still freaky :P

Do you maybe spot the mistake?

Most Februaries display all 31 days :D

Something I truly not see here.

If you are wondering how the function is used:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated <3

    Have a great evening.

    Best,

    Chris

  • That's great Domino99!

    Cool it worked well :)

    Have a great week!

    Chris

  • You got to make this gdrive link either public or accept my request ;)

  • Heello Treshimek,

you have to check your events than. Like said it should work as lions_ said.

    Here is an example file:

    drive.google.com/file/d/1Zq69THetcN6uXTa41837GbPji_-q4R8Z/view

You gotta see how your "code" varies.

You don't have a "for each loop" or a wrong "every tick event" or something like it in there I guess?

    Best,

    Chris

  • Hi Domino99

for none player objects you can get some really cool bounce behavior using tween and randomized time and positions.

    Created a little example scene:

    drive.google.com/file/d/1OIe2IMaupu1hWMdfme63kiykXzLAIrAz/view

This example is not top-down (but you could also apply it to scale to get an up and down bounce effect from top-view. But you asked specifically for players. So I guess you are aiming for something pinball-like? "where players bounce off walls [...] top view."

So for players and interactive elements, I don't see any other solution than doing it physics-based and playing around with elasticity.

I hope you have a great weekend!

    Best,

    Chris

  • Hello Treshimek,

    what said should work!

If you need further control, you can also give your orb object an instance variable / boolean and only turn this true if more complex events should reliably destroy only this orb.

    Example:

    Event 1

    IF

    on collision with "ship",

    time > 10 seconds,

    orb's health < 10

    THEN

set orb's instance boolean (variable called "destroyable") to true

    Event 2

    IF orb destroyable = true

    THEN orb -> destroy

Bottom line: Do as lions_ said and it should work perfectly for your example. But maybe for more complex ideas, you might want to give "instance variables" a closer look in the future to further influence when and which individual objects get picked.

    Hope this was somewhat helpful.

    Have a great day!

    Best,

    Chris
