Sometime it happen to me too . Text object can be tricky to deal with.
Just set text to distance ( objectA.X, objectA.Y, objectB.X, objectB.Y)
That probably straightest way to show how far 2 object are.
Unfortunately I can't open the game using Bluestacks. Don't have decent device to test it.
Working on level selection menu
It was intended for turn based strategy or Megaman menu like. But Sonic game menu like would be make sense too.
Several months ago I was so excited designing GUI using vector program and made it working in C2. Then I lost the original design file but managed to kept the capx. So I think it's worth to share the work since I have no reason to hold it any longer. Hopefully it will turn into an idea for others.

Use pin behavior to attach the modules into the ship based on relative position to the ship.
With absolution, subtraction works too.
