  • Velojet , I've made the blog in C2 , but can't figure out the rest ...

    Whiteclaws

Hmmm. C2 wouldn't have been my first choice as a blog platform. WordPress (e.g.) gives you much more than (I'm guessing) you could give yourself. Still, congrats on your initiative.

You now need to register your own domain and sign up with a web hosting provider, so you can upload your exported C2 files and make your blog publicly available.

A colleague in the UK uses Simba Hosting and is very happy with them, but others in the UK are probably better placed to advise you about a choice of provider.

  • I like it! A nice example of what can be done with the WordPress platform.

... I have not asked Tom or Ashley about it yet, with the chance an ezine may be in their current business plan/model ...

    What's your own business plan/model for this? Subscription-based? Advertising-based? Angel investor-based <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> ? ...

  • aka WhiteClaws

We guys have a few questions for you!

    • What is your "C2 created blog"? Is it a blog powered by the C2 engine? Or is it a blog about C2, using some other platform?
    • Have you registered your own domain already?
    • Have you signed up with a web hosting provider?

  • My main concern at this stage is that the text contrast is entirely readable for everyone - is this the case now?

Personally, I'd prefer the message body text to be <font color=black>#000</font> (rather than ? #666 ?).

    Thanks for posting!

Tim Schafer (founder of Double Fine) really is one of the legends of gaming. He was honoured in Melbourne's 'Game Masters' exhibition, just closed - from the catalogue: "Tim Schafer [has established] himself as the comedic star of videogame writing. His many releases are considered some of the funniest ever written".

And Double Fine's job offers, too.

Not just comedy but honesty: "Sometimes we get busy and ignore that mail box for months on end." It'd be good if other companies were as honest.

  • Just be aware that changing a username is not always a simple task. All your previous postings are tagged with your original username, so changing a username means that in effect you're starting over.

Also, any reference to kbdmaster in other members' posts (like 'kbdmaster's games are cool') becomes a source of confusion.

    That's why it pays to think very carefully before choosing a username <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • It works now :) ...thx thx

What do you mean by weird places? Why weird? And what's App Data?

If you add the -g (= global) flag to the install command (npm install socket.io -g), that should ensure that it'll be on a filepath where the node command can locate it. (My PATH environment includes: C:\Program Files\nodejs\;)

    [ADDED]

    For reference:

    My node.exe is in

    C:\Program Files\nodejs

    My socket.io files are in

    C:\Program Files\nodejs\node_modules\socket.io

My server development files are in:

    C:\Program Files\nodejs\dev\c2mp

    When I installed

Executing 'node server.js' in C:\Program Files\nodejs\dev\c2mp\ transparently accesses all necessary files/modules (including of course socket.io).

    1. The Wikipedia entry on WebRTC keeps up to date with its current status e.g. "Mozilla hope to give a useful implementation with Firefox 17 in January 2013".

    2. Implementation of a WebRTC C2 plugin simply depends on anyone who has the necessary expertise (and time!) choosing to develop it.

    3. WebSocket servers for C2 client games have been developed, using socket.io. Do a Forum search for 'multiplayer'.

    4. Building such a server for a person with no prior programming experience would be an impossible task, IMO. One path to coding a WebSocket server using a different game development toolkit is via Photon. But it still needs JavaScript programming skills. See my contributions to this thread.

  • Guys, have you also checked funsockets.com?

Hmmm. Can't see any specific mention of multiplayer support. Rather larger team than Scirra, and less to show for it.

  • Andyshole

No bug - it's been exhaustively tested. Feel free to put your capx up to be checked.
