  • 1 If you have already created different maps in different layouts than just open from the menu or start screen (layout) to the layout you want the player to go ...

    2 In case you have created your maps in the same layout just set the layer in that layout and set the location of the character in the map you want to ( bu changing its coordinates x,y) .

    3 In the case you generate randomized maps than all you need , is to go to the layout where you create your generated/randomized maps .

    ...actually, you should be able to change the name of things and it will still work, since it doesn't save data by the names of items, it uses a hidden unique ID instead (so you can rename everything and it still knows where to load data).

    If you add any new object types obviously they won't have any saved data, and if you delete object types then it won't load any thing saved for them. Similarly if you add layers or remove them etc. you might lose data, but if you don't make any such substantial structural changes it should keep loading just fine.

  • Basically , in a case where the player has already played a version of the game and the game has saved data using local storage plugin ...

    If i release a new version of my game on google play and the player updates to the newest version , does the previously data saved in the device get (erased / not used) or does it stay the same and viable ?

    i guess it works ... testet again on android and ios and the invite function worked on both

  • donald Cela thank you so much for posting these pictures. It will be hugely helpful in troubleshooting Jose's plugin. Which version of Intel XDK are you using? Could you also post a picture of your app settings in Facebook Dev?

    My xdk version is 3491 ( i believe latest )

    Create app on facebook dev console and add platforms that you are interested in , like ( fb ios android , windows phone ect) nothing special in the settings really , (((at least not that im interested in other details because facebook has the tendency to update too often and every time changes the apps system too much to keep track of all details))) .

    I mainly intent to use the plugin for invite and app request since one person every single time can invite max 50 people to install the app ( so if you have lets say , 4 friends , with avg 150 friends each )... you can get the game link to 500+ people in relatively short time ... While the the app request since i first tried it last night after your comments , seems to work so ill probably use it to create a "gifting system" for my apps .

  • testet again both app request and app invite ...

    App invire requires you to generate url through facebook developer console while app request does not ... same thing for share dialog , i believe it requires url generated but i haven't tried doing that , only the invite's url , so cant really test share dialog ( my workaround is to use simple widget plugin because it gives the ability to the players to create their own message since facebook new policies don't easily allow developers to post predefined messages on behalf of the account owner ...

  • Hey , so i tried the plugin with intel xdk and it seems to work great . Until now i have tested the login function and the invite friends one , since those were the most important for my game project , and got it working , but i usually export it on android 4.1 api number 16 ( since on a lower api phones , the performance is really bad and it gave me a weird error during build app , also it does not matter to me since the performance is baaad in devices with android vertion older than 4.2 , so 4.1 seems fine ) and it works great with the latest whitelist option of xdk ... testing it soon on ios , and will post for updates

    Edit : so im reading about your login problem ... weird thing is i dont use login at all but whenever i execute invite action , it automatically asks me to login if im not logged in or just takes me directly to the invite list from facebook if im already logged in ... also will try other actions to see if i get the same positive results

  • It's not. We are in a completely different genre with a very different player base.

    Makes total sense what you say , now that i see it that way it even seems pretentious to worry about that at all ... but hey , who knows !
