  • You can start with this tutorial indeed, and check out this post.

But if you just discovered C2, I'd suggest you first to familiarize yourself with C2 itself and go through the beguinner's guide to C2 and check out where to start first.

  • Moved this topic to the "how do I" section.

Please consider editing your first post to clarify the title and give more explanations/details and a capx about what you are trying to achieve and what you already have.

As of now, it is difficult (if not impossible) to give you any kind of help/support.

    Sure.

    Don't diss your own game <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Even fluider in FF7.

    I'm glad, and can't wait for FF8 and FF9 <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> (a few monthes away)

  • This look so promising, awesome work.

    Can't wait for the C2 version <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Very nice.

I wish I could understand what the soldier/robot on the right is saying, it looks funny seeing the reaction of the dude on the left <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • The correct topic is there:

    (Behavior">PathFinder.

I'll take down those old links, they seem to provide some confusion.

  • From your files, I think you're using the folder of an old version of C2.

The html5 folder is missing some files, and should be containing "jquery-1.6.3.js", not "jquery1.4.4.min.js".

Also your behaviors folder contains only 2 folders (2 custom one you probably added yourself).

    There you should find :

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36472942/construct/forumhelp/R59folder.png" border="0" />

From your screenshot I take it that you use windows vista or 7.

    I don't, so I can't guide you more into finding what's wrong.

My guess is that you have several versions of C2 installed and that you're operating in an erroneous version's folder.

  • C2 r59; Windows XP SP3; FireFox 7.0; ATI Radeon HD 4870

    Dual-core E5200 2.5 GhZ; 3,5 Go RAM

It appears that in an existing project, when adding new animations and add frames/load textures to it and save as folder project in a new folder, the frames disappear from the project.

    (At least under windows XP)

The error will produce a check failure when you try to launch a preview.

    DON'T DO IT !!!

Also don't close the project or C2 or try to open it again right away, you'll get errors.

Instead, check the animations you just created.

    It should appear like this:

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36472942/construct/bugs/R59-missingsavedanim-small.jpg" border="0" />

Just load again your textures and set the origin to where you wanted it. (When I found the bug I didn't messed with the origin points, they were set to the center, where I wanted them).

Once you're done, save the project (simply save, not save as) and now you can close the project and open it again. From there you can launch previews and work more.

(If you had launched a preview after having saved right now, you would have had a JS assertion failure occuring in your browser.

I've sent a bug report to ash in MP (big project/assets) as well as a step by step to produce the bug. (apparently it occurs when saving as new folder)

Just be careful, this work around works for now.

  • behaviorS

Your folder name isn't correct as it is now.

    Create new project

Create Sprite - Double click it

Right click in animation window - Add animation

    Press enter

I already reported something similar in a previous version, you had greatly improved it, only this little quirk stood, and was no big deal.

Ha digging it a bit, if I add a new frame, thinking I'm in animation2, the frame gets added to "Default" instead.

  • I followed the instructions on your page step by step. I even had to create the behaviors folder, as there wasn't one included with the default files with r58.

This bugs me. In your installation of C2 R58 you didn't had a folder "behaviors" in "C2_basefolder\exporters\html5", you had to create it ?

If so, you couldn't use 8direction, bullet, scrollto behaviors and others.

If you still had access to those, then you copied the pathfinder in the wrong place.

I'd suggest you to uninstall C2 and install r59 at any rate then.

Just out of curiosity. I notice this was a caproj file. Do you have it on a capx? I have had no issues with capx files yet. (knock on wood)

The link I provide in the PathFinder topic is to PFDemo.capx, not caproj.

Anyway, a .capx is a compressed .caproj (project folder). (You can open .capx files in 7zip for example)

Install R59 and follow the steps again.

Make sure the pathfinder files are in "C2\exporters\html5\behaviors\pathfinder" and then open the capx.

    It should work.

  • What are your computer specs, OS and the version of firefox you are using ?
